Friday Morning Run: NRC10K #26 Recovery 🐌🏃🏻‍♀️

So after Tuesday’s 10k, today was a 31 minute Recovery Run with Coach Bennett and Andy P from Headspace called “Breaking Through Barriers”.

I just wish I could remember the discussions afterwards!😬🤦🏻‍♀️🙄

A gentle plod around the Boating Lake listening to tunes and looking at the wild fowl…the Canadian geese were particularly noisy today! 😂

Oh wow that looks like a gorgeous place to run! Fab recovery run for you 👏👏👏 I enjoyed NRC's 10k plan, so much fun, especially the interval runs and hill repeats. Enjoy it!😃

Yes, they do get through a lot on their chats, don’t they !? 🤣🤣

#26!!! You are wizzing through this! I’ll be starting it on a few weeks, so will be way behind you!

(Is the NRC app behaving itself again? Will fix those links in my doc soon, as I assume you are doing it manually now in the absence of NRC having the 10k plan handy within the app?)

Not behaving. Have to look at your plan, then search through all the runs to find it as NRC do not have it as a plan on the app 🤨

Hi CBDB , I seem to remember you printed off the NRC 10k plan in a more user friendly form than on the app? I just had a look at your profile and couldn't see it, please can I be cheeky and ask for the link again? Thanks :)

it’s here healthunlocked.com/bridgeto... but the links don’t work anymore. I am about to update it in the next few days, but NRC seems to intentionally change the addresses of the link’s regular. It’s a real bummer.

Thank you so much for that. I really need to get myself into gear, the last few months I've turned into such a slob. Hoping this will give me the impetus I need.

I missed this! I did this run this week too. It’s one my favourites. I had exactly the same thoughts about wanting to remember the chat really clearly-I always think I’ve got it fixed in my head and then when I stop, it’s gone!

That one has so many helpful thoughts about how we view success and failure, how barriers are broken down little by little and how we can create stories around perceived barriers that aren’t helpful. Coming up against barriers means you’re moving forwards. We learn more when we’re challenged than when it’s easy. Those are the things that stuck with me! Next time, I’m actually considering doing that run with a notebook and pausing every now and again because there’s so much I’d like to hold on to!

Hubby is into mnemonics, so he advised I use a “hook/peg” system to remember what I want to remember from a run. I adapted it a bit, but this link has an explanation

It works pretty well for me. But I’m nowhere near remembering every little detail like nowster does! I think he is the master of run-details!

…or maybe a recording system…

My mind wanders during the run, and I start thinking of things to say in a post…and then it all disappears 🤷🏻‍♀️🙄🤦🏻‍♀️
