Storm Dennis made parkrun a very challenging event this morning. I’d planned on doing some tourism today by decided to stay local considering the weather. It was raining very heavily with 50-60 mph winds at the start line. But once the start was called thankfully the rain stopped for the next hour leaving just the 50-60 mph wind to contend with. I struggled with the head wind and gave up on a hard run and just relaxed. I got around in 30:35 which I was happy with. Anyone who achieved a parkrun PB today did extremely well.
There was a group of us wearing our milestone t-shirts this morning so we got a pic together. I’m 6 in from the left, just to the left of the guy with the bright coloured hat.
Hope everyone had a happy parkrun day.

What a set of Parkrun Devotees! Congratulations to you all. Very brave. 👏🏼👏🏼 Dennis is just sending early messages down here on the south coast of England, but already it would be no fun out there. 😨
Great time for you Damien, 30.35 is excellent considering that Dennis was holding you back during the run, I see you on that photograph, really good that all the 50 and 100 parkrun runners got together for that photograph. 😊 🏃🏾
Mine was covered by a wind and rain proof jacket. It was only at the end when a few of us were cooling down after the run with our jackets off that we noticed all the milestone t-shirts. So it was too good a photo opportunity to miss.
Hello Dexy. I’m 2 behind you. I did my 69th parkrun yesterday. Next week I’m going to do my NENDY and my 70th parkrun. I’m aiming to do over 40 parkruns this year and get my 100 milestone done before the end of the year. I think I’ve done 8 so far in 2020.
You’ll catch up with me while I go skiing for 2 weeks, so we’ll be back in line again. Yes that’s my target, and also to get my 25 Volunteer’s shirt in the same time frame. 6 to go.
I think I’m the same, 6 or 7 to go to get my volunteer t-shirt. It’s a good challenge Dexy, good to be sharing it with you. 100 parkrun and 25 volunteer done in 2020 plus 40+ parkruns in a year. Silver obsessive badge. Plus some parkrun tourism.
Well done for facing the weather damienair , love the photo too...30 mins is a fab time under normal circumstances so you should be chuffed with that 😁
