Went back to the 10k trail at Bedgebury Pinetum to do my 8km. The sun was shining, Bedgebury looked beautiful, I had the confidence of knowing I did the full 10km last week. So I was surprised that it felt pretty tough! There was a lot more uphill than I remembered from last week, think I must have been running on adrenaline last week! Today my legs felt heavy and I just wasn't in the "zone". Still, it's done. ☺ Happy running all!
Week 4, 8km run felt tough! : Went back to the... - Bridge to 10K
Week 4, 8km run felt tough!
Great running Debston. It is strange last week when I ran 9k on the Monday the 5k on the Wednesday felt tough. It must be true some runs just feel tougher than others. 😊😊
I guess so, I just want ALL my runs to feel amazing! 😂 I was meeting a friend for breakfast this morning so couldn't run first thing and I think running later on just didn't feel right. And maybe I'm just a bit tired now after all this exercise! Will have a couple of rest days and then go to Parkrun and hopefully feel re-energised.
Maybe it’s the cold, we did 4 k and barely warmed up
Its good to get it done though isn’t it? and you look happy x
That's a good point, last week was rainy but so much warmer than today. I look happy in the pic because that's roughly the halfway point so I stopped to take a pic by the lake. Always feels good to know you're halfway there!
Good for you completing it. It’s funny how some runs are just harder for no apparent reason, regardless of the distance. Just shows how much it’s in the mind as well as the body. It makes it all the more satisfying to finish when it’s been a hard one. 👍
There was definitely a bit of mental resistance going on today! It didn't help that I tried to be clever and go off the trail towards the end so I wasn't stuck with a 2km walk (it's a 10km loop), thought I had got myself lost for a while! Eventually found my way and it was time to walk but I ended up running the fun downhill stretch and really enjoyed that part, even though it didn't "count". The mind is a strange beast! 😂
👍👏🤗Well done for getting through that tough one!! Sometimes the tough ones make you feel happier at the end of them than the easy runs!! ⭐️🎈
Well done, I think I live my life on adrenaline and ultra high HR whenever I do anything.
Well done for pushing through a tough run. And sounds like you got to enjoy some spectacular views, so try to focus on that. And remember, you ran 10k last week, so you know you can do it, don't let this week knock you back. Your doing amazing!👍👍
My 8k last night didn't quite go as planned either. Not so much because I struggled or found it tough, but the route I mapped out and planned to do wasn't the route I had in my head so when the 8km marker beeped I still had 2 or 3 km left before I got home. Decided to walk those extra Kms but was so cold by the time I got in.
Don’t worry Debston, some runs do seem harder than others but you did it. Do keep the hydration up, it’s easy to forget in cooler weather.
Well done, good going. It is so strange isn’t it. I did a 9k last week then struggled with my 5k on Wednesday. That’s just how it goes but you did it and you’ve already done the 10k so that’s great.
super, and lovely pic, you look really happy
Another great run there...your legs were probably still feeling it from the 10K last week.
The hard ones are there to make us enjoy the awesome ones even more 😁🏃♀️👏
