I promised myself I would run a 10k on each Monday of December. So today was my 4th 10k.

Quite windy and rainy but pleasant for running in .

I'm really chuffed as I've knocked nearly 2 minutes off my 10k pb .

Happy running people πŸŽ…πŸŽ…πŸŽ…πŸŽ…πŸŽ…

Yes it will be Jazzyrunner. I graduated in February 2019 and stayed with 5k as I really didn't think I could go any further. But do you know what inspired me to eventually push myself , it was reading the folks posts on here getting to that 10k. I thought I would give it a try . πŸŽ…

This forum is as amazing as the C25k one - I really can’t imagine anything more supportive and inspiring! Anyway, the achievement is all yours πŸ‘πŸ»

Well done! 1h for 10km is looking closer. What is your 5k pb?

Buddy34 profile image
Buddy34Graduate10β€’ in reply toCouchpotato2

29.56 . Got that at parkrun where it's really flat I think. No flat running where I stay there is always a hill or an incline 🀣

Couchpotato2 profile image
Couchpotato2β€’ in reply toBuddy34

Hills are good I presume... I have them too, no way to avoid them... I ask because I think you might find an improvement in your 5km from doing these longer runs; will be interesting to see

Well done. Jealous of the time! 🀣

Congratulations to you Buddy34 on that new PB 10K time of. 1.04.44, four seems to be your lucky number today, I think you could get a even better time if you ran the Drumpelliier parkrun course twice.

I intend to run my 5th 10K run on the 10th day of Christmas which is the 3rd January, I will run my next 5K on the 5th day of Christmas which is the 29th December πŸŽ„ πŸŽ….

I was through in Edinburgh this morning, walked up Calton Hill then around the Edinburgh 🀢 πŸŽ„ Christmas Market.

Letting the side down buddy πŸ˜‰ I foolishly signed up for a 10k road race at Durness as park of the cape wrath challenge week . It will be a real challenge for me as it's on the road, part of the nc500 route so avoiding tourists with camper vans. You can be my vrb that would give me the impetus to keep going on the hills.

Well done, I found running 10 k was easy when I adjusted my pace to something doable. Slow is good!

Buddy34 profile image
Buddy34Graduate10β€’ in reply tomartinhermanus

Someone said to me it was easier to get from 5k to 10k than it was getting to 5k and they were right.

Now they tell me it's easier to get to 10 miles. Not sure πŸ˜‚

10k is an amazing distance and as always i think back to wk1r1 on c25k when that 60 seconds felt so hard.
