Just a short one today!

Sadly, I couldn't get to the Christmas parkrun yesterday so did a 3km run today instead. I am going to try and get a couple of runs in over the next week but it'll be hard to find the time. So glad I got out there today, even if it was short and sweet!

Sorry you couldn't get to parkrun yesterday but glad you enjoyed your 3K run today, have a great Christmas, you could do a 5K on the 5th day of Christmas, 29/12, which I hope to run also, I am thinking of running a 10K on the 10th day of Christmas which is the 3rd of January.

I like that idea, AlMorr! We'll see, I am hoping to get to parkrun on 28th, am without a car at the moment so if I can't get there, I might do a neighbourhood 5k on the 29th instead. It's my birthday on New Year's Eve so might do a birthday run to end the year.

Hi Debs. Good to see you back out there and glad your running is going so well. Hope you are feeling OK health-wise. Happy Christmas to you!

Hi Stephen_uk, thank you. Feeling pretty much back to 100% now and delighted to be running regularly again and to have made it to 10k a couple of times recently. I would never ever have believed it this time last year if someone had told me that I would be running and even enjoying it! I am so grateful to have found C25K and this forum filled with amazing support and wonderful people. ☺

Yes it can be tricky fitting in runs this time of the year... I've just been sitting here thinking about how I'm going to fit three runs in this coming week... somehow inbetween running around the country visiting friends and family I will manage it :)

Enjoy it all and grab those running opportunities when you can!

Managing any run is great when you're very busy. 🎅🎅🎅

My daughters got back from Junior Parkrun this morning, looking so happy and pleased with themselves - it inspired me to get out there too!

Aww too bad about PR Debston, but you know there’ll be plenty more where that came from. 😀

Enjoy Christmas and your birthday, and fit in whatever runs you can. I think we all need to be uber flexible this time of year. My hopes of a long run this week depend on how high the river gets on my favourite towpath. Not looking good, so I suspect mine will all be short and sweet runs too. 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

Fingers crossed for you. One of our nearby parkruns was cancelled due to flooding yesterday. Hope your river behaves itself! And yes, need to be flexible and sensible!

Be careful with flooded river.

I will, thanks Elisabeth. If it’s high I simply won’t run that route. It’s not worth the risk, especially as I take my dog.

I think many people will struggle to fit in a run over the next week or so. You are not alone. Well done on your run today, feels so good when you manage to squeeze in a run.

Yes, it's a lovely time of year in many ways but a bit hectic and oh god, the pressure of creating a perfect family Christmas! I blame all the Christmas adverts with tables GROANING with delicious treats and nobody ever arguing! Bah humbug! 😂

I quite like it when Christmas period passes as quickly as it arrives! I like the calmness of normal days 🙂

Perfect

Well done for getting out. I hadn’t run since last Saturday but went for a 5k yesterday just so I don’t loose all momentum. I did 3k had a little walk did another 1k had a little walk and then finished off the final 1k.

I could tell I was a little dehydrated but it felt good to get out.

It's hard to remember to drink loads of water at this time of year! Much easier when it's hot and you will feel parched if you don't drink enough!
