I’m running the Southend 10k tomorrow. My first 10k. It’s going to be wet wet wet but I like running in the rain. Bit nervous running with all those people but my friend is coming too and hubby will be at the halfway point to cheer us on.
The other first is that I marshalled at my local parkrun for the first time. Had a wonderful time seeing it from a different perspective. I really got to appreciate the inclusivity of it from little ones doing their 4th run to people walking/running with walking sticks. Along with all speeds, shapes, sizes and ages. Plus someone dressed as a unicorn celebrating his 100 parkrun. It was truly inspirational.
Have a good weekend everyone. 😊🏃🏻♀️⛈☔️

Well done for volunteering knittingrunner when you can’t run. Have a great time tomorrow; that first 10k race is so special. You will get the 🦋🦋🦋 but once you start running they disappear. Make sure you get into the loo queue in plenty of time.
Good luck with the 10k. I did my first 10k last week in the wind and rain. I was nervous!! As soon as I got into my stride I found my own space, did a steady first 5k and slowly picked up pace throughout the second 5k. Job done and all smiles. You only notice the host of other runners at the start. You will be fine; just an upscaled Park Run! 😊
Ooh I love a race! It’s exciting and I hope there’s bling! Good luck and enjoy tomorrow. Don’t go out too fast and forget about the other runners. This is your race, just for you, just be prepared to feel epic when you cross the finish line 💪💪
Hi Knittingrunner ...good luck for your 10k tomorrow, I am sure you will be fine...especially with your fan club there cheering you on...and we will all be cheering you on too!! I haven't marshalled at parkrun yet but it's def on my list of things to do now I've read this...they're always asking for volunteers and like you, i'd like to see it from the other side.
