3 firsts this week!

1. First round of applause from a member of the public.

No idea what possessed him, I was running along a flat pavement, feeling very comfortable. Suddenly a man was clapping "keep goin luv you can do it!"

2. First time I ran in my new trail shoes. I had them for Christmas, but haven't worn them running, because it's been so muddy round here, I've been scared of breaking my neck, so have stuck to pavements. Pleased to report they are really comfortable (and now very muddy!) 😁

3. 1st time on a beautiful new route. First half was a bridleway I haven't run on for ages, as you join it from what has been a quagmire of a path and a very wet field, but you get vast, expansive views of beautiful Devon countryside. Then you go onto a road and I saw a track I had never noticed before. I ran down it a bit trepidatiously, as it was a big hill to run back up if I had to, and came out at the top of a country park that I had been in before, without realising it was so big. I LOVE finding new routes and this one is definitely a my new favourite - it will be amazing in the summer. 🌞

Anyway, that was my running week! Enjoy your Sunday.

I quite like mud... but, well done you...it sounds to have been a great running week and your new route sounds wonderful!

A very good run for you along your new route, wasn't that very nice that man saying "keep going" nice to be applauded.

I have had a few people saying "you're doing great" while running, notablely on runs 3 of week 5 and run 3 of week 9 of C25K, also when I ran my only up to now 10 miles run.

I did my first C25K run back and forth in the local, very small, park. A couple walking their dogs shouted encouragement then waited with another dog walker at my "finish line" to cheer me on.

Such a surprise and such a boost

Yeah I had two women with prams say “ well done. you’re doing great “ to me today. They had just had 3 men run past them and then there was me shuffling along behind so perhaps they thought I needed encouragement. I always feel envious of the high stepping runners who pass me and my feet hardly leave the ground 🤣
