Big thanks to TailChaser who posted about the 15th Anniversary of Parkrun yesterday. ππͺπ½ I decided (sort ofπ₯΄) that it would be nice to get out there and run a 5k! Iβve not done many PRβs and was contemplating the whole two laps in my mind. Iβve been a bit higgeldy piggeldy with my running for a while. But when Iβve got out there, Iβve been fine. Today was lovely! π
I was relaxed and doing my own thing. The jeffers did discombobulate me briefly at times (they donβt usually) π₯΄. They made me think π βooh might be time to have a little walkβ π€, but I gathered myself together, checked in with whether I needed to stop yet and found my answer ....βrun onβ ππ½ββοΈ! Besides....I did intervals two days ago. βSpice it up a bitβ!! π
Well, I donβt think it will be a PB, but my NRC app had 36:45 and Iβm very happy with that. We had the incentive of donated free Cotswold Classic Middle Distance Triathlon t-shirts, announced before we started today. I was impressed that there were just a few left after I got back. It was first come back, first served, so I thought Iβm having one as my reward!! π€£! I did take one, but Iβll probably feel a bit of a fraud wearing it βΊοΈ. It could be a booster though. Look like a triathlon athlete, run like a triathlon athlete?......Maybe! π There is no cake for me today, but Iβm celebrating all the same. Being out of a regular routine, Iβm glad I made it happen today, itβs been brilliant!
Happy running Runners!! β€οΈ

Good run for you today Fabulous450, like you I was a little disappointed at my parkrun this morning, not at my running time, but at end, despite today being parkruns 15th birthday there was NO CAKEπ
Alas no cake, no T Shirt, not even a official result, still waiting, must be having a problem with the computer, I only know my UNOFFICIAL result was around 32.40 ish because the runner in front of me who I was pacing for the last kilometer told me the result on her Smartphone for her was 32.39.
Not sure about that, I looked at the parkrun results of the run I ran two weeks ago, the results for today are on that parkrun's results page, whereas the result page of the run I was at today is blank and still no email, if I had ran where I ran two weeks ago I would have had my result by nowπ
Have you got your result through now Fabulous450?, my OFFICIAL EMAIL and result came through to me just before 3 o'clock, it's not a PB as my time this morning was 32.31. π ππΎ
36.45 for your app, 37.34 for your official result, very good, you got a sub 40 minute 5K whatever way you look at it, that unofficial result of 32.40 something I got was based on a Smartphone result of a runner who finnished just in front of me telling me her unofficial time was 32.39, not sure what her official time was as the result page is still down, once again, well done on your time. π ππΎ
Thank you AlMorr! π€ Iβm pleased it was sub-40. My PB at PR is 35:40. Itβs my second run this month, and I only did one last month π₯΄π. The main aim is to get that βme timeβ in again and run regularly, just for the fun of it. πβ€οΈ
PS that runner who told me that her Smartphone time was 32.39 got a OFFICIAL time same as me at 32.31. she told me that she is running a 10K at Inverness tomorrow, good luck to her.
I have ran 3/10Ks, my times being 73.03, 70.20 and a PB sub 70 minutes time of 69.23. They were all ran locally on the same route around a loch 3 times near to where I live. (yes I am Scottish, loch not lake.) π
Thanks BTP!π€ Swim 1.2m, Bike 56m and run 13.1 printed on it! If nothing else, Iβll definitely look like an athlete with it on!! ππ! βTwas a great morning! β€οΈ
Well done for getting out to parkrun today Fabulous . It does give you energy to run with other people. When I paused to walk a little another runner said she had been using me as a pacemaker - proof that I started too fast as I never saw her again.
Ah Dexy π€! Thank you! Well done to you too and for your unexpected Pacer role! π! I was truly reminded it is fun to run with company and seeing all the different ages and abilities, just doing our running thing, really is pretty Fabulous! β€οΈ
At the finish I had a dad encouraging four boys to go for it - so I picked it up too. Result - dad and 10 year old in front of me with PBS and 10 and 11-14 behind me. Itβs great to watch the kids at parkrun.
Great job... especially getting to the start in time π€ͺ
I did some serious jeffing at parkrun today, Iβll fill in the details when the VRB pic and post is up, but was going to remove the last bit of my name here when I got over the line π€£. Iβve resolved this now though.
Now, if youβre feeling a fraud in the t-shirt, there is a solution π
ππ½ππ½! In good time to park the car, all equipment charged and running smooth! ππ½Slower time than I thought in the end, but I enjoyed it. π
Your name is perfect. No harm in jeffing! And no....thereβll be no triathlon! π€£π€£π€£ Nice try! πβ€οΈ
Good run for you today UNM, I noted your comments about the "no more" part of your name π
I ran my 7th parkrun today, had to wait ages for my results as there seems to have been a problem with some computer problems, perhaps something to do with demand as today's Parkrun celebrated its 15th anniversary.
I was disappointed, not at my result which was 32.31 but because there was NO CAKE at the finishing line. π
Very nice time Al, well done on your 7th. No cake is scandalous... hope youβve found some since!
I went from parkrun to the gym... had a planned run to do and had a little to prove. According to my Garmin Iβve done 13 miles on foot today, and I have an evening stroll to go.
I only take my Smartphone with the app when running alone, when I am at parkrun I take nothing and rely on the official result time.
For example today the runner in front of me by about 6 inches at the finishing line told me her Smartphone app recorded a time of 32. 39, her official Parkrun time was exactly the same as me at 32.31, only 8 seconds, could be the difference between a gold or silver medal if that had been the Olympic Games, ha, 12/13 minutes is the time at the Olympic Games for the 5000 metres. π ππΎ
Now this is the Fabulous450 we know and love!!! Massive well done to you Fab for getting out there this morning...I was all geared up to run this morning at parkrun but with one thing and another I missed the start...I know how my dog feel now when he gazes longingly out of the window when he sees his mates running around enjoying their freedom...that was exactly how I felt watching all the park runners doing their thing...on this the 15th anniversary...I'll just have to enjoy the 16th anniversary!! Sounds like just the ticket...now go and enjoy the rest of your weekend...you park runner you xx
π€π€π€! Thanks so much Mummycav! I had such a great time today. Iβve had a fair few hiccups aiming for PR, so I know how that feels too. π And yes...the 16th birthday will be something to look forward to. π₯°!! You have a great weekend too.
P.S Love the Ambassador badge! Well deserved to. π₯°β€οΈ
Thank you Ang!! π€ Rhino ??? π¦ now what was that about? π! Did you get a PB? I know I might have run faster! π!
No cake Ang. After not running regularly, I enjoyed feeling light on the toes (correction...lighter!π), so was very happy to give the cake a miss today. β€οΈ
Yes a rhino. Have a look at the Marlborough common facebook page. So funny. He is running a half marathon in it tomorrow! Didn't run. Marshalled. I am so so slow at the moment. Nowhere near my pb.
Good to hear from you Ang33333 that you enjoyed your run today at parkrun, nice seeing a rhino this morning.
I ran my 7th parkrun today at Dunfermline, no cake, no jelly babies, no result until 3 in the afternoon, very disappointed, not at my result which was 32.31 but because there was
Thatβs so good to hear Fab! Hopefully you can get some sort of routine going again. I feel totally lost when I donβt have a routine so I can understand how youβve got so βhiggledy piggledyβ π Wear youβre lovely new top with pride, youβre one third of the way there already anyway (which is more than a lot of people can say) π! Xx
Thanks so much TailChaser! π€ I was sparked up by your post. Iβd love to get back to a routine. I guess you just have to make it happen. Checking in is probably the best way to help me to get going again. β€οΈ
Thanks JonathanP!! π€! The t-shirt was a great bonus. Lovely colour! Shame I wonβt be a triathlon athlete just putting it on. πYou never know, there might be a bit of magic inspiration wearing it though! πβ€οΈ
Just got back from a gorgeous Thai meal with daughter and granddaughter and having a little HU fix before bed, saw your lovely post Fab, glad you got out and did your parkrun ooh! and a free tee shirt too whats not to love about this running lark? π₯° πxx
Thank you!! π€ Couldnβt agree more! Iβve now got the kit to pretend Iβm a triathlon athlete when I go out there. Or, I can at least say βWhat am I fussing about? Some have done a swim, bike and then 13 miles..... Get goingβ!! Hopefully something will rub off on me! π€π½πβ€οΈ
Great that you kept running! I was following 2 runners up the hill (second time) and had my fingers crossed theyβd keep going as like you I think Iβd have been tempted to walk! I wasnβt sure of parkrun at first but now I love it. I took π° and Iβm trying to balance marshal/run and think Iβve done 8 of each. It just means my weekend run alternates between Saturday and Sunday (Iβm a morning runner!). PB yesterday too so all good.
