Hi Runners
Let me start with a truth.....even when you commit to yourself, it’s hard to prioritise that and it’s the easiest thing to drop in the list of “things to do”. Let’s face it...it takes time and brain matter to come up with the daily list that runs through your head first thing in the morning 🧠🤔😬🥴! By the time the run through is done, I already feel like I’ve run a marathon sometimes 😂. Or is that just me? 😵
But, knowing that I want to get back to having more genuine “me time” and having the uplift from having the time and space to be unavailable to everything and everyone. I checked the weather app to see when sunrise was going to be (that was a first for me and a good tactic 🤓, as I don’t like running in the dark ☺️) and I got ready to go.
It’s only 7:30....out I go and traffic is very busy. It reminded me of W1R3, my first outdoor running experience. It took me a while to settle into the run and after a while trying to channel that Triathlon athlete that should be wearing the free T-shirt that I got on Saturday, but not quite working, I veered off to run around the little park nearby. I probably should have put it on 😂. I decided to run on my own, without spectators. 👀
Running the longer distance around the surrounding field, I reminded myself why I started running and how far I have come since. That kept my feet moving, slowly, but surely. 🐌 🐌! The music was definitely going faster than I was going to be, but fast wasn’t the aim. It was staying the course. 30 minutes, not 10 or 15 today. I totally think that 10 or 15 mins is perfectly ok by the way, but not until I’m back in the swing. Prioritising that 30 minutes for me.
So today, I’ve done it ✅ It’s about more than just running and I’m on it! 💪🏽 Hope you all are too!!
Happy running Runners!! 🤩❤️
