Running slowly, I headed to my new run route which I discovered during my walks on the past two days. Iβve got a guided run playing to keep me motivated ππ½ββοΈ.
So...I donβt answerπ€, but I pick up my phone and press to send one of those custom messages....βIn a meeting, will have to speak laterβ!..(π€₯ well..itβs not exactly untrue...Iβm in a meeting with myself and weβre on a journey!π)! Itβs MY time!π
I carry on and for quite a while before I think, π€ πβhey whereβs the coaching gone? β. I take out my phone and π£...itβs paused. βOh helloβ....βare you joking?β! π€¦π½ββοΈ I stop in my tracks for a minute π βπ½, but then have to quickly remind myself, Iβve got 12 months to get to John O Groats! β , Iβve come out in the pouring rain β and I can press play and run on β !! Smart me...at times! π€π€£π€£
So thatβs what I did. I just carried on. I even run walked a bit, (what the hell...itβs kind of whatever goes now anywayπ). But I stayed out and I ran and Iβm just back feeling very good about going out in the rain. Enjoying the quiet space, (rain sure does clear the streets! π€£). I donβt know what distance I may have lost during that quiet spell, but Iβve moved a little closer to John O Groats!! Thatβs pretty cool! π
I wouldnβt normally say it, but I enjoyed being out in the rain too! π² Itβs so quiet!! I had the whole place to myself! ππ
Yes, it is the Nike App. It was the βThank You Runβ! The coaching was brilliant and reminded me to just be thankful about starting running and being out there today. ππ½πβ€οΈ
Long way to go for you FAB450 until JOG, gently does it, a mix of running and walking will get you, day by day ever so closer to your goal, at the moment you are still in Cornwall. π ππΎ πΆ
Thanks so much AlMorr! π€ Yes, Iβm definitely still in Cornwall π. Iβll have a look at my exact location later and have a little browse of where I am at on google!! πβ€οΈ
Well done Fab, any distance done to chalk off against that 874 miles is a win - and doing it in the rain just makes it more fun (some donβt agree, I know!) π¦π¦π¦
I got drenched to the last stitch on my run this morning too. Loved every moment! π¦π¦π¦π¦π¦π¦π¦πββοΈπΎ
Thanks so much Cheeky!! π€ Yes, it was nice to run in the rain. I even took of my rain jacket and tied it around my waist!! π² Thatβs a first! π€£
Run on we shall. Youβre right too...a little closer, is still closer!! πβ€οΈ
ππ!! Yes, I need to send out the warning or better still, use do not disturb! π
I thought I was doing good by sending the message, but now I know it pauses the App too, Iβve learned something useful! πβ€οΈ
Brilliant Fab, I always love your approach to your runs. π
π§ Torrential downpours all morning and β thunderstorms forecast for me this afternoon mean I'm not sure if I will squeeze my run in, but then again, never say never..... I did Pilates this morning and have kept my gear on just in case .....
Enjoy clocking up your miles to John O'Groats π
π You know Delly-dot...I surprised myself wanting to go out there today. I did question my sanity when it was coming down heavy while I was getting ready. But..today, I was ready for the fresh air!! Rain or no rain and I even ended up taking off the waterproof jacket too! π€£π€£!
No mental psyching up required! Miracles do happen!! π²πβ€οΈ
Well done! so annoying when it stops stuff when you get a call or message. I also stopped an audio podcast and for some reason it stopped my run once. Anyway we'll get there. Your run sounds refreshing that's for sure. Well done for getting out
Thanks so much Couchpotato2! π€ I gave in to the pointlessness of a strop very quickly (thankfullyπ)! I was out there on my own and it felt brilliant!! Didnβt see another person in MY running place! π€£π Thatβs got to be worth a little tech hiccup!! πβ€οΈ
Always!! πIf I cant laugh at the unexpected and the absolute audacity of not working out just the way I need it to, well...I may be a little bit unhappy, but a lot of the time πβ€οΈ
Yay well done! Fab run in the rain ππ§οΈ I've had that kind of thing happen to me before so I now always set my phone to 'do not disturb' when I head off. It's my passive aggressive 'leave me alone' gesture! π§π
I ignore any calls now as it used to get me so frustrated! I managed to pause my run this morning due to testing out a water bladder for longer runs the tube got in the way! Weβve a long way to go yet, so I thought Iβll just enjoy Cornwall for a while. Great time out for you though this morning!
Yayyy Over62!! Iβm enjoying Cornwall too!! Thereβll be plenty of experiences on the way, Iβm sure of that!! ππ
Iβm just glad weβre doing it!! Enjoy and have fun!! πβ€οΈ
This girl does! As Buddy34 says, the rain is the best. It's where dreams are made out there. If I can, I try and time it so I go out when it rains and with Winter coming I'll soon be immersed in it. Love your attitude and positive approach. You are ready for all conditions now. Allow yourself to run/walk if need be. They all count as steps to the end. Well done on another run with your August challenge too!
Iβve always been pretty cool with my running dilemmaβs and Iβve had a few! π€£π€£ Itβs part of my own personal entertainment and I laugh at myself quite a lot too!!! I love running so much because Iβm not perfect at it, but I still do it!! And even when I stop doing it for a bit, I just get up one day and decide Iβm doing it. Iβm a rebel!! Or just a little bit mad! π€£π€£! I prefer βrebelβ! Letβs stick with that!!
Of course you all keep me very sane and inspired too, so Iβm in safe hands!! August is looking pretty good so far!! πβ€οΈ
It takes at the most in a normal room temperature of 20C/21C two days for shoes to dry out, you don't need to stuff them with paper
During all the rain last February I had to wade through 2 feet of water on part of my running route although I was only walking that day, my shoes of course were saturated with water, two days later after leaving them to dry out in the house at 20/21C temperature they were completely dry.
Well done Fabulous450! πClocking up a few more kilometres on the road to JOG's!
I was out in the rain too this morningπ§ - running up and down a local hill, hoping it will make me a stronger runner! Definately a little bit of madness in us all maybe...and I quite like that! ππ
Lost in the rain π§ is the best kind of lost I think π love walking and running in the rain. Definitely one of my happy places βΊ All those wet miles will get us to JOG!!
Woohoo that woman certainly can!!! Sounds fab. I've not set out in a downpour before so I'm mighty impressed with your motivation. You are definitely on a roll with this.
