I know John Lennon was singing to Yoko, but his lyrics I have applied to my running, after only 4 runs, 3 of them parkruns in 9 weeks and feeling very unfit, thought it would feel a bit daunting getting back to running but after meeting VRB’s in real life feel refreshed and energised and excited to build up again. Amazing how hairy two dogs become in 2 months! Well we’re home, dogs have been given short back and sides and baths. I finally emerged from our laundry on Wednesday after countless loads of washing and finally got to hang it out on Thursday, due to rain and more rain. Managed runs on Thursday and Friday and will add 500 metres on to my distance each run until I feel fit again. Off for a meal to my stepdaughters tonight. Do those of you a certain age remember when after a holiday there were the inevitable “slide evenings”? Well she actually asked to see our photos! 😂 Out for a meal with daughter and granddaughter Sunday night. Its granddaughter’s birthday and while we’ve been away she has got her learners’ licence and is now saving for a car. I swear it feels like she was only three yesterday.
I went into my HU settings and have changed my email address from our home one to my personal one, so at last I get emails on my phone. I also discovered that my notifications wasn’t turned on?? No wonder I was missing so many posts🤦🏼♀️ Technology challenged!! Anyway just wanted to say happy running and parkrunning tomorrow everyone and especially the Lyme Park mountaineers. Good luck everyone. Can’t wait to read all about it and see the photos. 🏃♀️🏃♂️👏🏻❤️ Xx

Hi Lexi6, I hope you had good flight back home earlier in the week, I am sure you got a lot of licking on your face by your dogs when they saw you entering your house.
Nice that they have now had a hair cut. 😊 Good you managed a few short runs on Thursday and Friday but you are not ready for a parkrun just yet.
Good luck to everyone who is running at Lyme Park, today is the 15th birthday of Parkrun, so I will be running my 7th run at Dunfermline in Fife Scotland.
Thanks Alan, dogs are enjoying all the the attention I’m not quite ready for a parkrun just yet, hope to get up to speed (and a little faster) very soon. Hope your parkrun went well today, off to bed after a lovely meal, so will look forward to reading your report in the morning. Sunday morning being my favourite time to catch up with everyone’s news. 👍
Good Sunday morning to you Lexi6, I ran my 7th parkrun today (yesterday to you) at Dunfermline in a time of 32.31 good run, however, perhaps because of Parkrun's 15th birthday I did not get my official result until 3pm, the weather was dry with a temperature of around 11C.
Good Sunday morning back to you Alan, although no doubt you’re fast asleep by now. I had to take advantage of our fine, beautiful day and have a run before relaxing and reading the forum. You’re racking up the parkruns now and what a good time you ran, don’t think I’ll ever be able to do a time like that, but I can dream 🙂 I’m very happy with having done three runs since getting home this week.
What a time you have had, and a lovely welcome and lots of excitement back home too! You even manged some runs ! Brilliant.. Enjoy getting back into the swing !
Hey Lexi 👋🏽! Glad to see your post and that you’re feeling re-energised too! Have a wonderful time with the family. We may have some gaps in the regular routine, but it’s the same person who keeps going back out there again and again! A runner! 🤗❤️
Hiya Fab, just back from a lovely evening with the family and first thing I did when I got home was stoke up the fire and log in here. Its so good to belong to this very special HU running club 🥰 x
Thanks Dexy, the dogs were very excited and I’m hoping it wears off soon as I can’t move more than a few feet without being followed. Am really looking forward to parkrun again and excited at the prospect of becoming a tourist, but need a few runs first. OH still has his cough and cold which gives me time to get up some speed and get some intervals practice in before he starts 😂 I need a head start! Hope you enjoyed that cake.
Glad you are home safe and caught up on laundry (including dogs). Lyme Park was a lovely meet up, but I just need a little snooze before doing a write up
Thanks Baddie, the trip home although long, seemed to pass quite quickly. The dogs were a bit on the nose after two months, so it was off to the local pet store where they have a DIY dog wash. They look and smell beautiful now. So glad Lyme Park went well off to read the reports now. 🙂
Pleased to hear you got back safely. So you didn’t get the cold shoulder from the dogs after all 🐶😃 So please that you’re building the running back up too. Lyme Park was a fabulous meet up this morning. Piccies have been posted!
Thanks Sandie, just got another run in this morning, a slow 4km, but in beautiful sunshine. I’ll take it easy until I build up again. It’s been 3 months since I’ve managed 3 runs in a week, so very happy Mr lexi is still full of a cold and cough, so I’m keeping well away 😷 off to read your report and see your piccies. Would love to try Lyme Park next year? but will definitely have to start some hill running. Those we have plenty of here. 😂 x
