Hi, I have never entered a race (not even parkrun) but my running summer was prosperous and I managed run between 8 & 10 k. I don't know what to expect and really worried about not running with music. Not sure I can really π€¨ any words of wisdom? Thank you!
First race ever: Windsor Women 10 k - Bridge to 10K

Good luck for your Windsor Woman 10K,I don't think that you should be too nervous about your first race event run, considering that you have not been at a parkrun, don't consider it as a race, just go out and enjoy the run, don't see why you should not have music, unless the organisers don't allow it. I have ran five parkruns but no event run, they say the atmosphere is more friendly at a parkrun than at event run where you have a bin number, chop time etc, not sure why.
Thank you π you are right, I aim to finish, not looking at making good times
No advice other than to not stress over the time and to just enjoy the event. Have fun!
Ooh that'll be a lovely run! I use to live close by and have worked (and shopped π) in Windsor, it's gorgeous.
First of all, of course you'll do it. You've done it before so you'll do it now. Racing is fun, I love them.
Don't start off too fast, forget about the other runners, it's your race and yours alone. I love music on my runs but have never missed it on races because you want to absorb the atmosphere which is usually brilliant, I imagine there'll be a lot of support along the way at Windsor given the tourist numbers. Also, we'll all be there with you shouting and whooping every step π€ππ
Just enjoy it, think of the bling at the end and what you're going to write in your post afterwards. You'll be fabulous because you got through the C25K programme and you'll do this too πͺπͺ
Awww thank you!!! The self doubt was starting to settle in I must admit. I am not a natural runner, so I am fully aware it's a challenge, but equally can't wait!!
Windsor, how lovely. Good luck, youβll be great! Just enjoy it and donβt worry about the time.
Thank you π
