Completed a 10k this morning!! I’m doing Ju ju’s plan and am just starting week 5. Day off today so I planned to do my longer 8K run. Very sunny but chilly morning in Scotland but I checked tides and thought I’d pop in car to do the coastal route I did my C25K graduation run on as I haven’t done that for ages and it’s so beautiful!
Managed to get out with minimal faffage for once!!
Instead of listening to my own music I decided to listen to running commentary podcast which someone recommended and i really loved it! Made a refreshing change!
I set off nice and slowly determined not to go too fast and I settled into a nice comfortable pace stopping to take pics and just enjoy it! Lots of steps, golf course, over bridges, beach, mud flats, forest paths which keeps it interesting too!
First time I’ve got chased by a dog though!!😬
I had done 8K by time I’d checked and felt good so I just kept going and felt fine! If I hadn’t I wouldn’t have pushed it!
I’ll keep on doing the plan though!
Happy running everyone!! 😀☀️🏃♀️

Well done Sarakc, that's a great achievement. It sounds like a beautiful route, and you enjoyed it... you know you can do it now, maybe a bit of extra rest with those km''s in your legs!😊xx
What a gorgeous scenery and a brilliant run!! Except for the dog episode... No owner nearby? I like the idea of running without checking the distance and see how it goes. So, well done and I suppose enjoy keeping consolidating while following Ju-Ju's plan :-).
Thank you! Yes it really is beautiful! I used to walk same route when we moved here from Ireland about 3 years ago! Can’t believe I can actually run it now!!
Yes, it was an elderly couple with 2 dogs! I’m always quite cautious when dogs are off leads and up to now haven’t had a problem!! But it was ok!!😀
Well done, Sarakc! You sound v relaxed. I have had two incidents of dogs running towards me barking and snapping , enough to make me stop. Each time I have told the owners that it doesn’t feel very nice and suggested they keep them on leads if they can’t resist runners. Why do dogs do this?
Thank you! Probably my best run! I can’t believe I have no aches or pains today at all! Sometimes my hip hurts a bit but maybe it’s because I ran on softer ground! 😀
