Personal slowest parkrun, but so worth it!

So chuffed to have been able to run this: Hafan Pwllheli parkrun. The only mainland UK parkrun entirely on the beach: sand all the way and an out & back meaning you can see the entire course ahead of you. So glad of my trail shoes, bought purely with this run in mind! Personal slowest time but only 5 mins slower than my average which I’m happy with. Lots of people were having a swim in the sea after, which looked tempting!

It really is beautiful and unspoilt. Had to dodge the jellyfish!

Well done Molly, I can’t imagine running on sand, so you did really well. 🏃‍♀️💪

Actually isn’t that the same PR that Oldfloss did? I might be wrong (often am!) but if so I remember her saying it was super hard. It does look gorgeous though, and yes the sea would be sooo tempting! 😍

Yes it is! We were hoping to meet up but she is recovering from injury and wasn’t ready to run on sand yet. My niggly knee held up ok but I might pay for it later!

I am hoping we will get a short run in this week :) x

It was...but the tide was in then...!

I was so disappointed to miss this and to run it with Molly..! But I have to be...gulp...sensible! She did brilliantly!

The tide was on it’s way in today: I read the tide table wrong! There was still plenty of firmer sand to run on 👍 Trying to sort out a plan for this week: it’s all a bit ad hoc at the moment but would love to meet 👍

Well done, wow 5k entirely on sand, that sounds tough but must have been a good workout. And beautiful to run on the beach!

Hey you...

I was so, so, disappointed to miss this!!! I did not know it was the only park run entirely on a beach:)

It still looks mighty sandy there and the tide is out!!! I think I did the right thing... You had a great run! I wondered about trail shoes... or barefoot even!

You got a good time too, if it was only 5 minutes slower than your average time:) Blimey..Well done you!

....It took me a very long time to run it when I did it...... 44 minutes and a few seconds!

I have paddled today but not swam...!

I am really hoping we can get a little jaunt in together somewhere, maybe along the Coastal path.but it will be steady and slow... ( what else?) :)

Go you... Brilliant!

What a lovely reply! Hopefully we can meet up later in the week: maybe Tuesday or Thursday? The weather doesn’t look too good for then but it might change!

I was just shy of 49 minutes so slower than you!! There were a couple of chaps barefoot: there are still a lot of stones and shells for my liking. And apparently Portrush in N Ireland is also fully on a beach, so I’ve been informed!

It is challenging.... I did find a really lovely shell though :) I am sure we can fit one in...I will PM with you ! x
