Woo hoo! 5k personal worst, but so excited🎉

Some weeks ago now I rediscovered my mojo, which had been well and truly lost. I got back into running 5k ( never had aspirations to run any further) and thought 'do you know what? I could run for a bit longer'. So I started ju-ju's magic plan but I was running too fast. I had a 5k pb on my 44 minute run (which was actually 45 minutes because I wasn't stopping so close to 6k) and I was so tired I couldn't have run further. Since then I've been trying to slow things down and it's worked! Did 60 minutes non-stop last night and am so chuffed. Only 7.5k, but blooming heck 60 minutes! 🏃‍♀️

Congratulations on running 60 minutes non stop, you deserve to be very proud of yourself and of course chuffed 😊🏃🏾

Thanks. As my husband pointed out it's 60 times longer than that first c25k minute, but I know which one was hardest!

Thank you. I just have to think about whether to increase to 10k. No hurry though

7.5k wow 🤩, my 6k took me 56mins 🐌. Glad you refound your mojo 😍

Thanks. So am I. I'd been running 4k regularly with the odd 5k thrown in and then lockdown happened. I was struggling to get to 3k, but I seem to have put those gremlins back in their box!

It didn't seem that far at the time, but as I was driving past my route today I couldn't believe I'd run that distance!

Brilliant effort, never say only for that distance in that time - it was 60 minutes, running, having lost your mojo - fantastic. Happy running 🤗

Thanks, I had become quite despondent during lockdown, so I'm properly chuffed x

Well done Archerygoddess, it’s amazing what comes with a newly polished mojo! 60 minutes and 7.5k - that’s definitely worth celebrating!

It just goes to show that running is as much in the head as the legs!

60 minutes is ace! Well done. I really believe in this method so keep going and keep achieving! You can do it 🥇

Starting C25K was the best thing I ever did. I was a sceptic when I started. I had a hard time believing that I would run for 30 minutes, but yes, it does work and now 60 minutes, Who'd have thought it?

So right. Look at the journey you are on! Wow. Remember:

You have made the progress

You have done the miles

You deserve it!

Great achievement 👍 10k is my new goal and I’m going to slow the pace to achieve that. You’re doing well 7.5 is an impressive distance well done Archerygodess 👍 🏃‍♀️

Definitely keep the pace slow. I was really struggling with doing that, going too fast and getting tired. My slow run on Thursday night (I'm a bit of a night owl and finished it about midnight) was really enjoyable and that's what got me through to the 60 minutes. Good luck with your 10k. Look forward to seeing your graduate badge 🥇

Inspirational! Well done you! 👏 You will crack the 10k in no time at all at this rate!

I was glad to read this as I haven't run 10k in a long time and lockdown running has seen me running very sporadically - mainly 3,4,5 k. I think I might be brave enough to go back to Ju-Ju's plan now. 🙂

Happy runnings to you Archerygoddess!

I know what you mean about lockdown running- it's really hard , and even though I was going out 3 times a week I wasn't enjoying it. I hope you do get back onto ju-ju's plan and banish those gremlins.

Good Luck

Well done! Also well done for having the sense to slow down.

I've just started the magic plan but am struggling to relax into it because my head says I should be pushing harder but then, surprise, surprise, my times are slower than usual and I'm more worn out.

I shall use your success as my inspiration on my next run 😊

I think you've hit the nail on the head. I'm sure you do think you should be pushing harder to increase the distance, but actually slowing down and relaxing I found my long runs easier than the short ones, which was quite a revelation!

Good luck with the plan and hope to see you posting your success soon 🙂

Fantastic AG! Really well done. 10k is calling to you, but only when you’re good and ready - and soon you will be. 😀
