I was intending to go to parkrun this morning, but was up and awake in the early hours with one of our dogs who wasn’t too well, I eventually dozed off and slept through my 7 am alarm. Would have been a waste putting my gear away, so had a banana, a drink of water and set off to do 5k anyway, taking 27 seconds off last week’s official PR time, so my first (not) parkrun time was 36.33. Very happy with that.
Back to parkrun next week with the volume already turned up on my alarm. I love waking up to music and usually have Emeli Sande waking me up, but had chosen Cat Stevens’ Morning Has Broken instead today (and it certainly had) I was intending to drop my “kindness rock” which I picked up on my Thursday run at parkrun, but will do it next week instead. It has an ID number on the back, so its journey is tracked and when the number is posted online goes toward a donation to charity. Lovely idea. Happy running everyone. X

Thanks Dexy, yes I think it might be. I’ve found rocks before, but never picked them up, (felt like stealing) but stepdaughter explained they are either to be kept or passed on so I don’t know whether the others had ID’s or not. Anyway its a fab idea isn’t it? Seems there’s still a bit of kindness going on.❤️
The rocks are similar to what we get here Dexy. Children (& adults!) paint them up and see how far they travel via Facebook pages. We get a lot in Stratford. I found one at our festival once and brought it home to send it on it’s way. Never heard of the donation idea before Lexi mentioned it though.
Interesting. I have seen some painted pebbles on my walks before, but always leave them for others to enjoy. I shall see if there is a Facebook name on the back next time.
I hope your pooch gets better very soon, good run and time for you today Lexi6, these things can happen and you miss the alarm.
So you ran a (not) parkrun in a time of 36.33, very good, are they still recognising (not) parkruns in New Zealand now that the official ones have resumed?
Now coming up to 8am in the UK and in a 100 minutes I will be running my 5th (not) parkrun.
I’ve not run one before Alan but its still on our offical PR site, so I might post and see. Way flatter running around home than our real parkrun. Go you for your 5th (not) 👍
Good evening Lexi6, so far this Saturday I don't see the usual virtual or not parkrun site that our friend Damion sets up for a Saturday so I might set one up for the usual (not) parkrun result page he usually sets up, anyway I have just come back from my 18th virtual/5th (not) parkrun, very nice morning for running after the recent humid weather we have had, my time this morning was 33.56 and age grade 54.91%, I saw about 7 other runners today NONE of which passed me, so I wasn't going too slow, enjoy what is left of your Saturday.
Thanks lexi, it's coming up to midday here in the UK and I am going to have lunch which begins with Chicken Soup, I will enjoy that after my run this morning.
Aww Lexi, lovely mummy being up with your sweet dog. 🐾💙 Hope he’s feeling better today. 🤞
I love that idea with the kindness rock. I’ve never heard of it, but whilst walking along the seafront with my daughter on Thursday there were countless painted rocks along the base of the wall. So pretty - much prettier than the padlock idea, also found around here.
Great run too! Really well done. A PB is always nice isn’t it? 🏃♀️🏃♀️
He’s all good and looking very tidy Mr L gave him a good clip and tidy up, so he’ll be definitely needing his jumper tonight 😅 the rocks are gorgeous aren’t they just can’t not smile at them. It was rather nice getting a PB today. 😊
Brilliant! I was 2 seconds slower than last week’s (Not) PR but I’m ok with that because it was worth slowing momentarily to admire the tiniest sweetest German Shepherd puppy - which then followed Flossie and I! 🐾🐾🐾 Luckily I was running a loop so the owners were able to scoop it up! I’d have been slightly miffed if I’d have had to stop entirely! There are limits you know! 😅
Thanks BBr he’s a little toughie with a high pain threshold, so knew he wasn’t feeling the best. Hope I can take a few more seconds off at parkrun next week 🤞 See you on the mat 🙏🏻xxx
Lovely rock, we have a whole trail of them in the village made by children during lockdown. Great new not park run PB for you, fantastic. Happy running 🤗
Well run Lexi6. I hope your 4 legged friend is doing ok. I'm sitting here looking at the rain. Again. Still the good news is the canal and reservoirs have been topped up.
Thanks Baddie and the boy’s doing all right. Will be good to get a diagnosis on Wednesday 🤞Yay! for the rain, good for the garden, your allotment must be well watered. x
I’m sorry to hear your Parkrun didn’t quite go to plan. Hope your dog is doing ok now.
But.... it’s brought a brilliant alternative outcome for you today! Wonderful PB!! 🤩🤩 And.....I absolutely love your kindness rock!! It rocks for sure!!💓 Just like you!! ❤️
Sorry to hear about your dog lexi but hope he’s ok now. A very impressive first non Parkrun time as well! I love the idea behind the stones - as you say, there is still some kindness left in the world!
Thanks Coddfish, he’s a little brighter this morning. If I didn’t have such a short drive to parkrun I may not be quite so willing to get up and go, but the park is sheltered from the weather and bonus its not concrete, which I usually run on so I tell myself its worth making the effort 😘
