Well, I have finished the C25K so have set myself 10K as the next challenge. To focus my mind I have signed myself up to the Cardiff 10K on 1 September. Will let you know how I get on with the training!

Well done, and really well done re the weight loss, but 8 weeks is a very short time to go from 5k to 10k, especially as all advice is to consolidate C25K by running 3 * 30 mins for 3 weeks or so before pushing on. Ju-ju's magic running plan (link below) does take someone from 5k/30 mins to 10k/60 mins in 8 weeks, but looking back at your C25K posts I'm guessing that realistically your 10k time will be 85-90 mins.
You're obviously the kind of person who's got the right mindset to achieve what you want - but do be careful and listen to your body as you push up the time and distance of your runs.
I'm sorry this first reply is cautious rather than wildly enthusiastic, but I do wish you luck, and do let us know how you get on - especially if you prove me completely wrong!
Just a bit of an update. I am now regularly running around 8K in an hour and quietly increasing my distance each time. Hopefully by September I will be aiming for around 70-80 minutes for the 10K. I have also signed up for the Swansea 10K three weeks later so hopefully will be able to improve whatever time I do in Cardiff when I go to Swansea.
