CHAPTER XXXXXXX CXXXVIII - CONCLUSION (or start of something new?): Reader, I signed up to it! A quiet sign-up I had, the page and I. My hubby was present as well.
But enough of running on with Jane Eyre, and start of running this 6 months challenge.
The Stoke set of six routes from the team at SixPack Challenge came out only last year, and I remember being sorely tempted, but I was just training back from a stint on the injury couch.
But this year I was ready!
I had marked it in my diary.
I was visiting this website repeatedly.
And finally it opened and I signed up!
The whole challenge starts 1st April and ends on 30 Sept. So I have now 6 months to run the different routes with distances of 6k, 6k, 7k, 7k, 8k, 10k. Together, they are designed to make up a marathon distance (and a bit).
It’s app-supported, with starting points provided with the What3Words App, and route navigation with the RunGo App. I’ve had some gps issues with RunGo, but I think I’ve changed my iPhone location settings, so it should work fine now. I have a test run set up in RunGo to see if it works ok, before starting on one of the proper 6k routes.
As the route lengths vary, it will also fit neatly into my 10k plan, giving me even more motivation. And exploring different routes, many of which I have never experienced, is also so exciting!
So it’s all go!
So apologies for gushing about this challenge, but I’m so silly with excitement that I just had to share in a stand-alone post!
Wishing everyone as exciting planned adventures for the spring and summer season!
Happy Running, Everyone!
