A new running route

Park run was cancelled yesterday because of flooding along the route. I haven’t managed to get out much this week because of the weather and paths been so muddy. So I thought about where might be a better option. Then I remembered the tarmac path along the canal, just the job! A long time ago (maybe 25-30 years!) I used to run along the canal. So we parked in town by the path and off I went.

It was so lovely to use a new running route. It went really well although I slowed after about 2.4km. I managed 4.5km altogether. The route was really lovely and everyone along the path was friendly and some shouted encouragement 😄.

I’ve also been building in some squats and balance exercises each day and started some arm strengthening (I had to lift a small case onto the rack on the train this week and had struggled a bit 😏). I really hoping that these good habits stick!
