My nickname at school was βdaddy long legsβ... itβs taken 40 yrs to be pleased Iβm lanky and can cover distance quickly - I certainly donβt have the endurance to run for much longer π€£
Well done on your first 10k and in a great time too! Like you, I grew up with comments about my height and being 'skinny'! Now at 53, I really don't care anymore because these skinny pins are pounding out the miles! Don't rule out endurance either btw - I used to think the same but it's all about putting in the work, as many of us have found (I ran my first half marathon last year!) .
Also, how great is running? What other sport do you know where so many people of different ages, sizes and abilities can all take part in the same race?! ..You ran with the legend that is Mo!!!π
I know right!?! Except my kids are quite quick to point out that Sir Mo had finished before Iβd even started so technically we didnβt quite run βtogetherβ π€£ but hey, Jessica Ennis gave me a high five at the start line (along with the 1000βs of others that she had to wave off)
V proud - and amazed at how far Iβve come when I couldnβt run to the end of the road... but oh those 29 seconds!!! Still itβs keeping me motivated to go again!!
