Great Manchester 10k

Wow. What a race. Huge field, big crowds, well marked out route. I managed to get PRs for every distance between 400m and 10k, coming in just over 1:06 (1:05:32 for 10k according to Strava) and with a 0:31:17 5k in there. Loved it. Pushed hard throughout - my heart rate was well up.

It did feel like a lot of logistics for running 10k so I think I might stick to HMs for future races.

Hi Jay, I’ve said it before, but more than happy to say it again - huge ‘well done’ on a fantastic achievement!😀👍👏👏👏

I’m not sure what my ‘favourite’ distance will turn out to be, but I suspect somewhere between 10K and HM, just to be awkward!😊

Cheers David - the peril of us having so many “outlets”!!

Yep, that just about sums it up- Strava, here, Facebook etc etc🤯 I’m sure I’ve missed something but can’t think what🤣

Between 10k and half marathon? In standard distances that means you would look for 10 mile races.

Thanks Arthur, I was thinking around that👍 There aren’t so many organised races over than distance but nothing to stop me just going out and doing it. About 1.5 laps of the Croydon HM route ought to do it! 🙂🏃‍♂️

Yes! I was admiring your gold PR trophies for all distance on Strava.

Awesome achievement Jay!

Outstanding Jay... Sorry I have to say, your picture caught my attention because I've just bought that exact running top for a 10k I've booked in London... Adizero singlet. Looks good on you fella 😄

:::blush::: That’s really kind.

One of my early posts mentioned why I was running - in part, to get back in shape and be more attractive and have a chance with someone lovely who I would also be attracted to. It’s early days, but I’ve recently met someone who fits that bill. So something is maybe working!

Congratulations Jay on completing yesterday's Manchester 10K and in such a great time, just think last year at this time you were just starting with C25K, now you have ran in Europe's largest 10K and it was on the telly as well, great work.

Well done Jay, a grrrreat Manchester 10k, beating all your records. I think running with others helps it along a bit. I think we now need to see a before c25k photo to prove how much weight you’ve lost. you are looking really good.
