I wasnโ€™t sure whether to post this on the Bridge or the Race Support forum, so apologies for putting it on both!

The original plan for this event was that I would run the 10k with my sister - and we were then joined by my husband.

We drove down to spend the evening with my sister who lives nearby and of course we couldnโ€™t resist a spot of Eurovision before a good nights sleep.

Sadly, disaster struck for my sister when she did something to her back getting out of bed this morning and it left her struggling to walk,๐Ÿ˜ฉ let alone contemplate a 10k run around the streets of Bristol! I was truly gutted for her as she has been building her running back up recently and was so ready for this race. She was hoping for a good time too ( much faster runner than me!)

So in the end it was just the two of us who set off. We used the Park and Ride which ran very smoothly and dropped us off right by the event village. Toilets and bag drop sorted we then headed off to the Green wave.

I ran this event a few years back and the course has changed a little. As cheekychipmunks said, Bristol has a few little bumps along the way, which were mostly okay, although there was a hill just after 7k that I could have done without (dig deep Sandraโ€ฆyouโ€™ve got this!) Also, Bristol has a lot of cobbled streets!!

Support on the course was great and despite flagging a little, that glorious finish line soon came into view!

I finished in 1:08:35 which was pretty much what I had expected, although I would have liked to have been a little closer to 1:05, if Iโ€™m honest!

Great day out and now revived after my magnesium bath!๐Ÿ›

1.08 is nothing to be sniffed at, itโ€™s a great time. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘ Well done, and I do hope your sister recovers soon. I still recall vividly the time a few years back when my back went early in the year. ๐Ÿ˜ฃ Itโ€™s horrible.

Great run for you, despite the disappointment of not running with your sister...hope her back is easing... I empathise... I got a back tweak Friday morning which worsened so much that I could not run Sunday. I am hoping for end of the week!

Your run sounds so much fun and interesting too... that little hill testing you and you winning through!

Well done you!
