Many, many moons ago I remember reading a conversation somewhere on here where 2 runners were discussing what a great distance 10k is, so much better than 5k. At the time I was in awe, 10k was a real struggle for me, my longest regular runs were 5, 6 and 7k. This evening, many moons later, I ran my "default" distance for a longer run which is now 10k. It was lashing it down, I got really muddy, in fact it was almost stormy (which is why I only did 10k), my face and arms got red from the cold, but I returned home exhilarated and happy. Nothing was hurting, I wasn't exhausted, in fact I felt I could do the whole thing again. An easy 10k brought a smile to my lips - what a great distance it is!
10k - a great distance: Many, many moons ago I... - Bridge to 10K
10k - a great distance
Love it - I remember not so long ago you were singing the praises of 6k. You're ticking off these distances very nicely
10... perfick!!!
Blustery, blowy, rainy and rough.... and you totally did it!!!! Easily!!!! Wow!
Well this time it is me in awe! 5k is still my comfortable distance with 8.5k as my PB. Hats off to you👌🏼
Well done you. Can't wait till ten k becomes the perfect distance for me...can do it but it is a struggle!!!
Yes, a nice distance, I'm considering doing The Croydon 10k again, but will need to do some training to get there again. My nephew is booked in on it so gives me some extra motivation..
Oh yes! Long time since I've done one for various reasons, but can't wait till I get back there...
The 10k is a launch pad to longer distances, and helps fitness with shorter, faster ones
10k racing is brill!
On that note I am out the door presently for a 12k 🏃♀️✔️😃
Just the thought of a 10K run leaves me feeling exhausted at the moment. However, I'll get started with that at some point next year, probably after running for 18 months. I've graduated from 5K, though.
