Hello runny peeps, having everybody scoring 10k while my back was turned finally got me out to the woods for a run today. I wasn't sure how far I would go so I planned a route that I could cut short or extend. I started with a loop around the bluebell trail, then headed out on an out and back path. There was a confusing smell of bluebells mixed with wild garlic in the air, very strange! To begin with my leg muscles felt really tight and heavy, and my knee was niggling, but then that strange thing happens where I got my groove and just kept an easy pace going. I clenched on the inclines and all was well, and my knee stopped grumbling too. So, at the end of the out and back I had done just over 7k and felt fine, so back around the bluebell trail I went. 8k!!! I did it!!! Quick stroll back to the car, and, um, ok I could have sworn this was the way to the car... Oops! Finally figured out where I was and where the car was. Only took 15 minutes π And then, as I took a quiet path back to the car, an owl swooped through the trees and landed on a tree stump a few yards away. It swivelled its head around to look at me, and I of course stopped to look at it. Two little birds then started flying around it, and it took off again and flew away, still chased by the smaller birds. Then I could see that it was carrying something small in its claws π΅ now that's something you don't see every day. Sorry you can't smell the bluebells. The owl didn't hang around long enough for a picture.π¦
