Well that wasnโt what I expected! ๐
Today was intervals day - Hidden please take note! ๐
It was supposed to be a beautiful spring-like morning, but there was thick fog up here. No worries, I ditched the shorts idea and plumped for long thin sleeves and leggings and laced up my trail shoes. Perfecto. I then dressed the dog in her hi-viz (yes, that foggy) and off we went up to the common. Almost got lost up there, the fog was so dense. ๐ณ
Primed up JogRunSprint, Mapmyrun and Garmin, got my tunes playing and set off on my warmup walk. Duly started my intervals (snail, medium snail and snail in a bit of a hurry) and did 4 sets of 3, which got me to 2k. Hard work, but exhilarating when I was sprinting (yes, itโs all relative!) The funniest thing was my dogโs reaction - whatโs SHE doing? - and she started bouncing around! ๐ โค๏ธ
I couldnโt leave it at 2k, so I jogged another relaxed 2k to make a more respectable 4k run. I was heading back to the car cooling down, then my trail shoes started jogging again, they turned back up the hill to where Iโd come. They then led me on a longer route back to the car and began jogging again, down hill, then back up again. What was I doing? I was doing my first trail run in my new trail shoes thatโs what! ๐ช
I didnโt want it to end, I could have pootled around all day up there, it was amazing! The feeling of freedom running on gnarly undulating ground, my dog running around happily. Shame I stopped all the tech at 4k as it would have been fun to see the rest of my route. Next time! ๐โโ๏ธ๐โโ๏ธ
Whatโs more my legs felt rejuvenated after their lazy 10k on Monday. Amazing. ๐
Just had to share (again!) Happy running everyone. ๐๐๐โโ๏ธ๐
