Today was intervals day - Hidden please take note! π
It was supposed to be a beautiful spring-like morning, but there was thick fog up here. No worries, I ditched the shorts idea and plumped for long thin sleeves and leggings and laced up my trail shoes. Perfecto. I then dressed the dog in her hi-viz (yes, that foggy) and off we went up to the common. Almost got lost up there, the fog was so dense. π³
Primed up JogRunSprint, Mapmyrun and Garmin, got my tunes playing and set off on my warmup walk. Duly started my intervals (snail, medium snail and snail in a bit of a hurry) and did 4 sets of 3, which got me to 2k. Hard work, but exhilarating when I was sprinting (yes, itβs all relative!) The funniest thing was my dogβs reaction - whatβs SHE doing? - and she started bouncing around! π β€οΈ
I couldnβt leave it at 2k, so I jogged another relaxed 2k to make a more respectable 4k run. I was heading back to the car cooling down, then my trail shoes started jogging again, they turned back up the hill to where Iβd come. They then led me on a longer route back to the car and began jogging again, down hill, then back up again. What was I doing? I was doing my first trail run in my new trail shoes thatβs what! πͺ
I didnβt want it to end, I could have pootled around all day up there, it was amazing! The feeling of freedom running on gnarly undulating ground, my dog running around happily. Shame I stopped all the tech at 4k as it would have been fun to see the rest of my route. Next time! πββοΈπββοΈ
Whatβs more my legs felt rejuvenated after their lazy 10k on Monday. Amazing. π
Just had to share (again!) Happy running everyone. πππββοΈπ

That's a new one to me 'cheeky', saying. "my shoes wouldn't let me stop" so not only you have the running bug but are now told by your shoes when and not to π stop ππππ«π«πππso happy that you enjoyed your run.
Hahaha ridiculous isnβt it AlMorr? π Seriously, if Iβd have had more time, I would have spent another hour up there, pootling around on the pretty trails. It was fabulous! πββοΈππ
I must have bought the extra special auto version when I ordered them off Amazon Jell! π€£
Itβs only their 2nd outing, and the first was a dog walk. Theyβre Asics gel ones, about Β£60. My new joint best friends (with my new Brooks road shoes too, of course!) I canβt hurt their feelings, they have more 10k runs to do! πββοΈπββοΈπββοΈπ
Just a little Dexy! Iβm itching to have another go! πββοΈπββοΈπββοΈπββοΈπββοΈπββοΈπββοΈπββοΈ
Lazy 10k day!!!!! Pace of 4:14!!! Yikes! I am so pleased that you had such am enjoyable time. Sounds like your dog enjoyed it too ππββοΈπππ
Sounds unbelievable saying I ran 10k at all over61, lazy or not - and yes I was pleased with my little 10 second sprints. Iβm not going to pretend I could have sprinted for 11 seconds, but it was great fun! π
My dog loves the common as she can run free. So we both came away happy this morning. ππ
That sounds like a perfect run! Shame you stopped your tech but it didnβt stop your or your dogs enjoyment ππ Iβm gonna get me some of then shoes that take me on such a care free run! ππ
Absolutely Sandie! My legs felt light and floaty today, unlike their reluctance to run at the end of my 10k on Monday. It was a wonderful run! ππββοΈ
What's happened to you cheeky? Road shoes, trail shoes, Garmin, mapmyrun, lazy 10k runs and a best time of 4.14!!!! You are like a ully fledged proper runner now!
Haha, I barely recognise myself Sandi! The only thing missing is legitimate negative splits (ie not running downhill like I did before!) πββοΈπββοΈ I might be waiting a while for those! π π
Magic trail shoes Lexi! I canβt wait to do a similar run next week. It was such fun and Iβve been thinking about it all day. πβ€οΈπββοΈ
What lovely magic shoes! That sounds like a wonderful run, CC. There'll be no stopping you now, what with self-running shoes, and go-faster turbo snails and all! ππ¨ π
You never know what might happen one day Wimborne! Iβm hoping mine will do it again. The spontaneous bonus run felt so special! πββοΈπ
Aaahhhh great job Cheeky Iβve only just seen this... I havenβt been on here all week!
βSnail in a bit of a hurryβ π love it!!!
Iβm really noticing the interval work starting to pay off now, I got a new 5k PB today (27:21) whilst running a 6.5k, it was quite a surprise because I hadnβt felt like I was pushing it.
Keep up the excellent work Cheeky you sound like youβre absolutely loving it πβ‘οΈ
