A year ago today, after Easter Sunday lunch, I set off with my sister on run 1 of Couch to 5k. We barely managed it! I graduated at the start of June and ran my first 5k on 30th July. It was so hard and such an achievement for an overweight non runner.
A year on I'm a stone and a half lighter, I still run three times a week and it's changed my life! I look forward to every run.
Parkrun is part of every Saturday now. I do run it but honestly prefer to marshal!! Our course is tough but I've got my PB down by 9 minutes since the first one in September! Fastest time just over 36 mins. So chuffed with that as I'm a snail most of the time!
I like long slow runs the best, fast runs are just for parkrun! I have got to 8k. 10k is the next target, soon I hope.... ! Have signed up for the 10k plan on here...
Couch to 5k is amazing. I've met so many people who began with it or who are just starting out.
Here's to another year of running!

Itβs been lovely to follow the journey that you and your sister have made over the last year Ang33333. Well done on your weight loss too; you are looking great.
I am sure youβll have no problem making that 10k run and weβll be waiting at the podium to cheer you on just like c25k.
Itβs so wonderful seeing all these runniversaries popping up! Reminds me mine isnβt too far away (well June ....). What a fantastic thing weβve done for ourselves. β€οΈ
Gorgeous photo Ang. You look so happy. π I second your sentiment about volunteering at PR. I love it too - and of course I love running it. We sound like weβre very similar paced runners. πββοΈπββοΈ
Keep up the running, and keep smiling! πππββοΈ
Iβm like you, started C25k last April, love running now. Just ran a ten mile race, again like you Inlike long slow runs. Keep running Ang33333, we are a unique breed.
It was so lovely to read your post as our C25K paths have been so similar! We started the programme within a few days of each other, graduated at a similar time and I, like you, have been running 3 times a week and loving it! Even our 5K times are similar (though Iβve only managed a few Parkruns).
Iβm well into Ju-juβs 10k plan and hope to compete it at the weekend.
So I hope to be posting a very similar message within the next week or so. Hasnβt it all been brilliant?!!
Very well done, Ang. I probably donβt need to say βkeep up the good workβ ...... running is part of our lives now and we wouldnβt dream of giving it up!
Congratulations on your runniversary Ang33333 So many of us who started at the same time (23rd April for me), who have made running part of our lives. Iβve also lost 1.5 stones, still run 3 times a week and have my first proper 10k race on Sunday. You will get to 10k no problem πββοΈπββοΈπββοΈ
It was lovely to see you today Ang!! Iβm sorry if I was so vague at the start there - my OH had disappeared and I was panicking for a bit! Iβll pop along to Marlborough Parkrun soon. Hope you enjoyed Lydiard!
Great to read your post! Well done to you! πΎπ₯π ππ»πππβοΈ π₯β‘οΈ πββοΈπ€ΈββοΈπββοΈπ€ΈββοΈπββοΈπ€ΈββοΈ
Happy runniversary Ang. Congratulations! So glad youβre still keeping on. Btw your PB is still faster than mine. Keep enjoying. πππββοΈπ
