.... after my 'personal' parkrun last week - as some of you may recall, the actual one was cancelled due to waterlogged conditions, I have entered a sponsored 5K for the first time.
All down to the support here, I feel ready to try this now ... I managed 40 minutes non-stop last night, by running the 5 minutes either side of the Week 9 C-5K to get me there.
Probably still wasn't quite 5K - but as I am raising some funds for a local charity, it's nice to feel that C-5K will achieve a result (all being well!) that won't just be for meπ.
Will report back in due course ....!

"Kelly's Guildford 10K: [Fake news - as I only 'ran' the 5K element!]
'Notsoslothfulnow' just finished with a time of 00:38:00!"
Thanks again so much to everyone here for all your support over the last few weeks π.
As it was hilly, slimy and slippery terrain (in parts) as well as a number of steps up and down the University of Surrey campus, I feel my timing might well have broken 35 minutes on a flatter more stable course.
Great credit to the Surrey Uni students - I believe it was a first year's idea - for organising an this inaugural event in support of a local mental health charity and a children's hospice. C Β£20,000 raised to dateπ.
Nice to feel C-25K over the last few months have me the opportunity to support a good cause
A 'veteran' of many 10Ks said it was the hardest course she had ever run. Lovely to have acquired my first ever 'bling - even if I feel a bit of a fraud as it is marked 10K not 5K. May be to inspire me to that as the next target,π.
I wasn't allowed to listen to my 'Laura' week 9 podcast so it was a first for me to run without that as my 'comfort blanket!
Thank you again to to you and everyone else for your support and encouragementπ. This week, back to repeats of Week 9 consolidation runs ... may be with one of the Stepping Stones podcasts?
