I thought I would post this in B210K as well as the C25K forum to get your wonderful ideas, so sorry for the replication.
While dealing with my frustration at not being able to run due to a debilitating chest infection, I thought I would put together a couple of playlists to tempt me out when Iโm fit and well. Hidden as always has given me great inspiration with her โ1st singleโ list and Iโm looking forward to running with it.
My daughter is obsessed with The Greatest Showman so I thought, why not have a couple of the more up tempo tracks to run to. And that got me thinking about other songs from musical films and shows.
So far have included:
Crazy in Love - Emile Sande & Bryan Ferry Orchestra - The Great Gatsby
A Little Party Never Killed Nobody - Fergie &c The Great Gatsby
Where the Wind Blows - The Great Gatsby
Lady Marmalade - Moulin Rouge
Because We Can - Moulin Rouge
Sparkling Diamonds - Moulin Rouge
Rhythm of The Night - Moulin Rouge
Diamond Dogs - Moulin Rouge
At the End of The Day - Les Miserables
One Short Day - Wicked
Defying Gravity - Wicked
Ride a White Swan - T Rex- Billy Elliot
Angry Dance - Billy Elliot
I Love to Boogie - T Rex - Billy Elliot
Somethingโs Coming - West Side Story
America - West Side Story
Hoping you lovely people can suggest some upbeat songs or tracks from musical shows or films that I can add to tempt me back outside.
Thanks.

My girls love Gravity, so I put it in there as it makes me think of them singing it as a duet when they were younger. Sorry to put you off!
There is a sound track of Westside Story with Kiri Te Kanawa as Maria on Deezer. Not sure about spotify.
I do like Midnight from Cats, but I need a father pace to run to or Iould grind to a halt and end up doing an impersonation of Elaine Paige!!! ๐๐๐
Thanks for your other suggestions misswobble and hope you enjoyed your run.
I have a few favourites from the 80s as those were my tennagr years Love danger zone from top gun also st Elemos fire soundtrack. I am on my second day of being in bed ill hoping to feel better soon. And greatest showman is absolute favourite of mine too. ๐
I love anything by TRex ๐ What about these just off the top of my head:
If My Friends Could See Me Now - Sweet Charity
Rhythm of Life - Sweet Charity
All That Jazz - Chicago
Time Warp - Rocky Horror
And although it would be hard to run to you've got to have Big Spender in there from Sweet Charity also. I once gave a rendition of this to a man I'd just met in front of a lot of people ๐ Every time I hear it now I still blush โบ๏ธ
I have a fave tune from Hair, which reminds me of all the happy hours spent in a certain nightclub, Aquarius by Fifth Dimension. The house band did a fab rendition of it nightly to open the show, so itโs forever etched on my brain
Another fave of mine from Hair, and I actually still have the single, is good morning starshine by Oliver
I loved the documentary on telly about West Side Story remaking of the music with opera singers OK by me in Americkaaaaaaa! ,lovely stuff. You could run to that whilst hooping and a hollerin ๐๐โโ๏ธ๐
Footloose is an absolute belter A must-have in my view
I run to I love you Porgy by Billie Holliday (from Porgy and Bess).
Mack the Knife is a fave running tune, by Bobby Darin version of course, (Threepenny Opera) It makes me laugh cos it reminds me of my peer group on here ๐. Talk of fancy gloves and flick knives, cement bags, tugboats, drooping on down etc etc, could it be our girlโs dun sumnโ rash ๐
I sing out very loud to Secret Love โบ๏ธ
Howard keel and Doris Day could keep you running into infinity I guess
I get a kick out of you from Anything goes is good The Gary Shearston one is lovely
I went to see Porgy and Bess at the London Coliseum in November. It was fantastic.
Iโm now thinking I need something from Carmen Jones - maybe Beat Out That Rhythm on a Drum.
Youโve also got me thinking about In The Heights which I saw in New York during its first ever week. My girls used to sing the sound track all the time.
Mack the Knife โ๏ธ
Anything Goes is in already I think.
This is going to be a very long Playlist, Iโd better get myself better so that I can actually get out and run to it. ๐คฃ
Anything...absolutely anything from 'The sound of music"!!! My bucket list includes me, in Austria spinning round singing 'The hills are alive' at the top of my voice!!! Haha xx
Excellent suggestions Hidden . The additional boost from the PCT meant that I was actually able to do quite a lot of singing without sounding like a frog or barking dog.
Thanks for the olive oil. Mr Razouski was very impressed and is thinking that a trip to Italy to see where it is produced is essential.
Who knew that PCTs were such an aid to recovery???
Iโll keep an eye out on the site for the dementia run details and let you know, but as Mr JCR said, you can always come out at any time for a visit, you could try a long weekend (because it is very snoozy where we are!) .
We leave pre Brexit about 22 March, so if you fancied a Spring โtasterโ weekend we could co-ordinate and that may work better for Mr Raz.
I thought of you today as I ran my tricky trail. I'd downloaded a wierd tune. Well, wierd to everyone else except me perhaps. It's not a musical but rather from a film. High Noon It reminds me of my dad, as he looked like Gary Cooper, so to remember his birthday, and this fabulous track i downloaded it to run to today.
