Ran 6K this morning, which is the furthest I've ever run! Took all the advice that fellow runners so kindly gave - in particular I went off more slowly than usual and that worked a treat. Looking at my split times, I ran each km at the same pace, give or take a few seconds. So this tells me I got the pace right. I also listened to an audio book rather than music - it was a complicated murder mystery story so I had to focus hard to identify all the different characters and plot twists. Great way to eat up the distance.
I do feel a bit weary now but very satisfied. Thanks again to all and happy running! 😀🏃♀️👍

Thanks so much! The audio book whilst running is new for me, but I love speech radio, dramas, etc, so will definitely be continuing with it. As you say, it is a very useful distraction. 😀👍
Thanks! I ran a bit more slowly than I have been recently, but that seemed to work in terms of maintaining a constant pace and getting to 6K! I'm definitely going to alternate spoken word with music from now on. 🏃♀️😀
I was listening to David Goggins autobiography while running the other day, this is the guy who does 100 mile runs, it kept me going while I was doing my 5k! 😂😂
