Dispite the weather being a little icy and being a Graduate10 (not ran a 10K since November 2019) I ran for 39 minutes, run 3 of week 2 of Ju Ju's Magic 10, I ran where there was no ice, did not slip as I ran on the paths that had been gritted.
I notice looking at the plan that the 3rd run of week 3 is 44 minutes.

That’s a good length run AlMorr we did that one back in December and it felt about the right length for us, then messed up and skipped a week by not looking at the plan properly then had to give up as our times we could run were too far apart due to dark weather and work
Glad you could find gritted paths to run on slipping would have been nasty
I was careful when running this morning especially on the parts that were icy, it was the longest run I have ran since last November, I ran the whole run slow and steady 🏃🏾 😊
Take care out there on the ice AM! I think it’s brave to run anywhere it’s slippery- but that only because I broke my wrist on the ice 2 years ago and can’t quite shake off the nerves about ice! Probably why I’m happy here in the south! Well done on your run this morning - much faster than me but I did at least do 6.15km so I’m happy with that!
I ran that 39 minutes run starting at 1 minute past nine and finished at exactly twenty to ten, I only ran where the paths had been gritted and salted, any icy patches I avoided, sorry about your broken wrist 2 years ago, it wasn't a case of much faster as I ran slow and steady.
Where I live most of the paths are separated from the roads, so there are special little griting machines for them so I can walk, run or cycle without worrying about traffic.
Good morning Lexi6, I hope you are keeping well, yes I enjoyed my run yesterday, it was run 3 of Ju Ju's Magic 10, 39 minutes.
Weather news, the UK Met Office has issued another severe weather warning for this weekend, not exactly sure where the strongest winds will be, the storm is named Dennis, of course we are all hoping the strength of the winds won't be too strong especially on Saturday morning, if they are parkruns will be cancelled which is a pity, anyway, we will hope that no parkruns are off.
All good thanks Alan. Yes I see you have another storm coming through. Guess it will mean a few cancelled parkruns, which will be a shame, but safety first. I’m just heading out shortly for a 15 minute jog, maybe the last one before my 10k on Sunday. Its blowing a gale today and the tail end of Cyclone Uesi will hit us in the weekend. 🤦🏼♀️
Sorry that Cyclone Uesi might affect some parkruns in New Zealand and could even affect your 10K on Sunday, I just hope it doesn't and I wish you a good run.
I have just heard the latest weather forecast regarding Storm Dennis in the UK for this weekend, gales and heavy rain for most places on Saturday, very high winds for part of Scotland later on Sunday, at least its winter here in the UK, you in New Zealand seem to be having a lot of rain and wind dispite the fact that it is summer.
Thanks so much Alan, think it will unfortunately be a hard and slow run, just finishing it now will be the aim. There’s no escaping Wellington winds and the 10k round the harbour is very exposed to both northerlies and southerlies. We’ve had a rotten summer here in Wellington (nothing new sadly) with drought conditions in the North Island and floods in the South Island. Sounds like the UK is in for a rough time again this weekend. Take care.
