Inspired by Bluebirdrunner and SaskAlliecat 's posts (which I read before setting out today) about seeking joy in every run I decided to make today's run a longer one (I had been umming and aahhring) and join together two of my more scenic Oxford routes for a dawn run.
And what joy there was - sunrise over the Thames; pink, yellow and blue skies; golden buildings, graceful swans, early morning rowers and to cap it all off a rainbow!
AND an effortless 10k pb AND the first time I've ever felt I could have pushed further at the end of a 10k.
Joyous indeed. Thanks for the inspiration ladies! π
Happy weekend running!

What a wonderful start to your weekend Deb! Such beautiful scenes, and you were running comfortably... (but quick enough for a PB!)π
Swans and A RAINBOW! that puts it in a different league. What a special run, that streak you have done must have played a part and how exciting knowing you were capable of running further!π
Well doneπxxx
I will have to find and read SaskAlliecats post too!
What beautiful photos Deb, they really capture your dawn run. Oxfordshire must be so lovely for running. An excellent time for your 10k too - whatβs not to like?
Such gorgeous pictures! Hard to not find joy with scenery like that. Your run sounds absolutely magical and an effortless 10k pb. Whatβs not to like. That mini-streak mustβve really agreed with you.
It's definitely made me feel fitter. Though I so nearly didn't attempt a longer run today after the slog of a 10k I dragged myself last weekend. It was all good paths and pretty flat though to be fair.
Oh wow Deb, what a fantastic run you had. Those photos! ππ It makes me want to go out and do a 10k today - although itβs blowing a hooley and itβs my rest day so boo! π πββοΈ
The PB must have been the icing on the cake. Amazing! ππππ
