Did my first 10.01k last Saturday in 59mins 35 seconds. Thought it was a flook and maybe too much too soon. Managed a 4k and a 5k run in the week but it was a real effort due to stiff and heavy legs. Bought a foam roller in the week to massage my legs and this morning did 10.13k in just under 66 mins - deliberately taking it slower to see if the after effects are any less. As a 65 year old who hasn't run since school and started with the C25K in August I'm happy with my progress. I'm also now a regular runner and volunteer, alternate weeks, at my local park run and enjoy being part of that community. Who'd have thought it??? If I can do it so can anyone who sticks with the programme and follows these 2 helpful, motivational groups.
Hi, Just ran my second 10k today. 12.5k last week. 11.6k today. Does that make me a graduate? Iβve not been following a programme or anything. Just been running for fun since finishing C25K in Sep.
Hello! I started ju-juβs plan back in September then went a bit freestyle at 8k. Have now done 3 10ks (last one last Sunday 1:02ish) can I still have a badge pleeeeeaase? Can send you a strava screenshot if necessary. Thanks!
I have been nosing around your half marathon plan, i like the idea of doing it in a on line group, looks like they are already having plenty of banter,
I have signed up with the local hospic for next Mays Manchester 10k in a sixty in 60 group which is slightly ambitious considering my graduation run was 1:08 so i am planning on increasing distance at a much slower rate and working more at getting some speed in my legs,
I hope the current group achieve their mission and if you decide to repeat the plan in the spring would you please pencil me in as your first recruit
Ran my first ever 10k last Thursday. 10.6k actually! Haha. Felt so good. Reached max of 7k before but this just felt right, so carried on. Time to be improved upon but for a 50 year old who hated sport at school and couldn't run until c25k started last April, I am amazed!
I ran my first 10k this morning after missing my watch buzz for my second 9k! Felt ok so decided to finish a week early. Thanks to everyone for all the help and Ju Junfor the amazing plan. Looking forward to a bit of blingπ
Thank you a so much. I started C25k in Feb, aged almost 57. Having smoked heavily for at least 30 years.
I would never have thought I could do this.
