I’m staying with friends in Todmorden. I mentioned last night that I might do Parkrun in the morning if it isn’t raining. This morning it was raining so I got dressed and went downstairs. They’re both eating breakfast in good time, ready to go to Parkrun! I went and got changed. It wasn’t just raining, we were in a cloud, but off we went with umbrellas. I did it in 34:35 and the youngster who was just seeing if they could run 5km came in 8 places ahead of me. This pace is obviously good for me because I wasn’t worn out and had a really strong finish.
A mainly flat course, with one hill that you have to run up 3 times.
I hopped back on the circuit and ran another lap with the mother and daughter who were doing their first Parkrun in a bid to get fit. They were at the tail. I ran with them to the finish to support and cheer them in. Put my mileage up a bit too, although once again I forgot to start Runkeeper. I often forget at Parkrun.
We didn’t need umbrellas on the way back, no point!
I think we have another Parkrun convert, and possibly a volunteer tail walker in the making 😀🌧🌧🏃♀️🌳

Great time for you Baddie, yes those youngsters that 'go try a parkrun.' and finish sub 30 minutes 5K without any training just make us older ones who have gone through a training course like C25K shake our heads in envy. 😊
I'm a terror at forgetting to start my watch too, or stopping it if I do start it. I love the thought of you going back and scooping up the mother and daughter, what a lovely pirate you are 😊 you'd make a fab tailwalker.
Great run, and really sweet of you to help others along the way. 😊
Sorry, just read this post. Their running club is great! My friend joined that running club, it was over an hour's drive for him but he loved it. We both went up Stoodley pike, that was a really nice day. Good memories.
