Hi VRBs - well almost exactly 3 months after graduating C25K Dobby and I have graduated B210K and what an amazing feeling it is!! I went out with the plan of doing 9k and seeing how we went and in then end I just pushed on to the 10 as we were so close anyway! However I wouldnβt have been so inspired to get this far without my lovely VRBs - you know who you are - who have supported and pushed me on so brilliantly enabling me to get to this point - thanks so much all π!
It was so dark this morning and I hadnβt slept well last night so struggled to get up when the alarm went off - these things seem to go against us donβt they? - but up we got and after 15 minutes of faffing ( Razouski π) I was hi-vized and flashy-flashy ready for it! I had a couple of moments early on in the run when I began to worry about cars slowing down past me and a man stopping to watch me go past - which slightly unnerved me - but it was probably my over thinking - which is easy to do when running isnβt it? π π
The rest of the run was an out and back route - necessitated by the darkness- which Iβve done loads but just extended it over the weeks so there were no shocks. I did have a bit of a struggle in the middle - the short uphill section challenged me today for some reason - but then it was mostly all downhill until the last km. At the very last minute Dobs veered really speedily into someoneβs garden after a moving cat π (strangely sheβs fine if they are stationary π) and nearly pulled me over but now, after months of practice, I can anticipate her movements (usually) without mishap π.
My first proper 10k race is next month so until then Iβll just continue to enjoy running and look forward to receiving my virtual bling. Itβs a shame Dobby canβt get a medal too π₯- after all she has run almost all of the same runs with me πΎ β£- Doggy medals - there could be something in that idea!
Thanks for all the amazing inspirational stories and support from you guys on here - it truly is a great place to be. And happy running everyone πββοΈ πββοΈπ₯ xx

CONGRATULATIONS!!! Well done, graduate You've done amazingly, I'm so pleased for you. It feels like I've been moaning on about various aches and pains and problems, and you've pretty much just got your head down and done it, no fuss, and that's brilliant!
Reading your posts and replies has been a real encouragement to me too. I also love that you basically said "sod it" for the last run, and just did 10k anyway. I did that at the end too
Well, you already know what I think of you. You are a super duper star, my best VRB, support supremo, my kick my arse out of bed early doors, totes amazeballs. You rock Louise (and the Dobstar) πββοΈππ π
Alison thereβs only so many times I can cry in one day and youβve caused me to cry twice today! Thank you so much - and the feeling is totally mutual. π xx (Iβll blame my age for the crying haha!) πββοΈβ€οΈ
Congratulations both of you! I agree, our running buddies should get medals too. My little Lab runs every time with me. She accompanies me on parkrun each week and sheβs with me every step of the way on my journey to 10k! πβ€οΈπββοΈ
So well done to you both! Huge achievement which you should BOTH feel very proud accomplishing! πππππββοΈπββοΈ
Congratulations Dizzysmum, such great news. Thereβs a lot of determination to get out in the dark at that time and you did it! Celebrations here we come. Well done to Dobby too. πββοΈπππππΎπ
Keep that podium warm for me - I will hopefully be getting there this month.
Well done Louise and Dobby! How lovely to have a faithful friend with you on this journey. 10km is such a wonderful achievement and you should be very proud, fit lady! Happy running adventures to you (and the gorgeous Dobby.)
Fantastic work both of you! ππ Dobby looks far more alert than I do at that time of the day ππ Is she a greyhound or lurcher? My mum had some ex-racing greyhoundsπΆ a few years ago. Theyβd run around like the clappers for a while then sit down and refuse to budge. They were lovely natured though π
Thank you David. Sheβs a lurcher - no idea what mix, possibly greyhound but sheβs quite small so could be whippet. She still has loads of energy after running - even this morning - and goes straight out for a walk with my other half and our other lurcher when I get back from running! πββοΈπΎ
