Well as I posted yesterday I had not run for over a month it was time to get them running shoes on. I was a bit concerned with not running for a while. I had still been going to the gym but with being ill and working I did not have time. Any way I woke up telling myself it’s run day. I had my normal pre run warm up 5 minutes light ride on the wife’s exercise bike then outside to get them legs pumping. I know it’s sad but I always plan my runs on my computer just so I have a idea where to go. This time it was going to be a new route which consist with about 5 to 6 miles of road running and over 2 miles of sand mud grass running (beach). I had planned just a 5k run but with me if I feel up to it il keep going. The weather was 🤬so I was soaked before I had got out my village but that didn’t stop me after all our skin is waterproof 😂. The 1st 20mins was hell I really thought I would not be able to go much further but all of a sudden every part of my body eased up my breathing was normal and my legs had stopped hurting. It was at this moment I knew I could do the new route. It was nice running somewhere I hadn’t run before. I got to the beach and manage to catch up with someone I had seen running in front of me earlier (I had to stop for a Paula Radcliffe moment in the woods😂) I said hi as I jogged past him and entered the last leg of my run by this time my legs were beginning to feel heavy but I dug in and made it to the end. I didn’t have the energy to run up the hill which would of added a extra mile or so on but I will one day any way thanks for reading and I look fwd to my next run maybe Sunday but just a small one this time. My aim is to hit 15k 20k 25k and so on so hit 13 after over a month off has left me feeling very proud of myself

That's a great comeback! Well done. It takes me until about 4K to get into my stride which is hopeless on a 5K 🙄 so I know what you mean about the first 20 minutes.
"Paula Radcliffe moment" - *snigger snigger*
Legs are beginning to feel the pain now lol
