Ok... what leggings do you wear that don’t fall down as you run? Im fed up of having to hitch mine up as go. 😤

Everything I wear is Under Armour, pretty much. Tried lots of other things and as yet haven't found the same balance of quality/fit.

That's just me though, I think fit is quite a personal thing as we vary so much in shape and proportion. Suffice to say, when you find something that fits just right it's worth getting lots of it! (that's what I keep telling myself anyway)

Any brand is ok as long as there is an internal draw cord to help keep them up and not just an elasticated waist. If your not too precious with the ones you’ve got make a small hole on the inside of the waistband and thread a bootlace or some such through. I’ve done it with a couple of pairs, one I stitched around the hole on one pair and left the other pair ‘raw’ - both have been fine and I did it a few years ago.

That sounds like a plan! I’ll give it a try.

I am pear shaped so have to go up a size to get over my bum but then they can be loose round the waist and slide down if you don't have a pair with a built in drawstring. I did the cutting a hole trick and threaded a shoelace through as a drawstring. All good with me too.

I have lots of Karrimor which is good value but you need to size up - I am a size 8 top but size 12 bottoms in their stuff.

I've had good success with Under Armour, Nike, Ronhill and Montane. All on the expensive end, unfortunately, but all of them wash and wash and wash.

I’m with AnnieW55 as far as picking ones with internal drawcords. No problems with those! My favorite capris for running are Alpkit - because (as well as a drawcord) they have 2 stretchy leg pockets which avoid me dropping my hankie!

Another option, I guess, is compression leggings. I use compression shorts in the gym sometimes, but have some full length leggings ready for the winter. There’s no way compression leggings will ever fall down unless you buy them many many sizes too big!

I had that problem with my old capris Amos28. Hitching them up as you run along is not a good look . What you need are capris, leggings or shorts that have a lace inside the waistband that you can tighten up if necessary

I love my Under Armours. I think they are compression but it's ages since I bought them. I've done a 100km walk in them. No sagging, no baggy bits and wash brilliantly. And so comfy I often chuck them on in the evening to slob about in 🤣

I'm lucky to have an under armour outlet store nearby but I also keep an eye on the sales. Black Friday coming up in Nov so you may get some deals then.

I'm reminded of an episode of Father Ted when our brave lads inadvertently got lost in Ireland's biggest lingerie department.

Can someone point me at the Fire Exit please? I must have taken a wrong turning. Ooops. Sorry ladies xx

Well, lingerie is a whole different question... I run in my decathlon capris which have a drawcord. My aldi ones have no pocket or draw cord. I also have winter leggings, compression shorts, all under £20. They don't have to be expensive :)

They have to have a generous back pocket, deffo a cord at the waist and ankle zips or I ain’t buying em. Ron Hill has the biggest back pocket thus far. I got his winter ones which are brushed on the inside and feel lovely and warm. Lots of reflective bits too. My Nike Filament ones are good too and had them since I first started running. Got some thick winter weight Saucony too but not great pocket wise 🤨

Wear my Ronhill “cargo” trail capris a lot in winter but am going to see if I can get the long leg version They are blessed with lots of pocket space 👍. I don’t carry a bag or belt

Oo I love a brushed inner! I've got a couple of pairs of tights with a microfleece lining, and a couple with some sort of soft slightly bobbly material on the inside to trap warmth. They're so toasty for snow days! They make it a pleasure to be out 😊

My newest ones have three pockets! A front pocket, a back pocket and a side pocket. I can take the kitchen sink with me if I so desire.

I always seem to be out in vile weather Last winter I seemed to be constantly running in nothing else. I did suffer a bit from cold hips and lower back so I bought some ladies Merino boxers 🙂

I might be the only one suggesting these, but I've found that the ones with a really thick/highish waistband - the sort that might be deemed "tummy control" (mine aren't, but I'm short so they come up high on me) also stay up nicely.

I ordered QueenieKa leggings/yoga pants on Amazon with mesh side pockets, a rear waistband pocket big enough for the iPhoneSE and an elastic drawstring. Love them! They were cheap too. I’ve got other makes without a drawstring and I am always hitching them up, so I use them for shorter runs and times I have pockets elsewhere!
