I haven't got any tips for windy weather (other than try to keep the wind on your back so it gives you a push...), but I also had a failed 5K run a couple of weeks ago - went out too fast and run out of puff after 3K. I just carried on with the long run after a couple of days, and with the plan since with no issues. Stuff happens, sometimes you have a bad run - don;t let it get to you... You can and you will! :)

Sorry, I’ve no wind tips either. I just know it’s really hard work, and that headwinds somehow seem to follow you around even when you run in a circle! 😊❤️

I bet you did as much physical work running in the wind for 3km as running on a calm day for 5km. I wouldn't call it a fail, I'd call it a practice 🙂

Not a fail. Conditions just cut it short. The heat had the same effect on me.

It's nice walking on the prom on a windy day with a hat on ,but not running in it .

Running into a strong wind is horrible ... well done for managing 3k.

I haven't got any tips either, I think you just have to slow down and turn round as soon as possible!

Good luck with your next run!

Yes the wind makes such a difference on coastal runs. It’s not a failure, but 3 more km in the running experience. Our Parkrun is 2.5 along the prom and back. So we can’t have the wind behind us all the way, I think you’ve just got to accept that you will be running slower against the wind so not fight it. Parkrunners tell me it gets easier with experience- I hope so.
