So, last run before I take my week’s running break, so got up bright and early to sunny blue skies. A tiny bit of a nip in the air, and a whiff of autumn. I got to the park to see the fields beautifully shrouded in a mist at eye level. And it took me right back to when I first started C25K, when I did most of the programme Sept/Oct during a lovely mellow autumn. As I ran and marvelled at the scene, a flock of around 20 bright green parakeets noisily did a fly past for me, which made me grin. I love those cheery little parrots.
Had a slight tech fail with my Garmin (user fail!) and accidentally stopped and saved my run at just over 4km. So had to fire it up again; after which I did another 2km. So, all in all, a really happy, life-affirming 6km run. Running has brought me to a new level of appreciation of nature and the outdoors.
It’s a bit early for autumn, I know, but it’s my favourite season. I was a late August baby, so spent the first few months of my life during autumn...and ever since I can remember, I am at my happiest at this time of year.
Happy running to you all.

Lovely post! It is definitely becoming slightly autumnal! Walked past 80S yesterday, didn’t think of reaching out for a running chin wag!! Doh!. Enjoy your week off!
Nooo, cheeky. Our Mitch is very fond of the love heart symbol, and I am fond of Mitch for using it! Heartwarming, you could say. We have a shared history though – Mitch used to work in the same building as I work in now, for the same parent company. It's a small world, eh? We never actually met whilst he worked here though.
Oh yes, wobble, it truly is! I am feeling all nostalgic and rambly as I come up to my one year runniversary. Hope you enjoyed your lovely slow 5k in the woods. x
Haven't seen any morning mists myself yet but I did notice the car had condensation on the windows the other morning when I went out for an early morning run, a sure sign of colder mornings I think . . . nice photo by the way 👍🙂
It's truly lovely. It was not cold this morning, but the perfect temperature for running. And blue skies are always good for the soul. And thanks – for once I managed to capture what looked like a scene from a fairy tale! x
Great post Sadie! Great stats! Your photo is beautiful too! I agree about the appreciation of the outdoors! Running outdoors you really notice how amazing nature is and how lucky we are to have it! ❤️
Thank you Fab lady! I have never actually run on a treadmill, I don't think I could! (all arms and legs like Bambi, me.) Nothing better than taking great big lungfuls of fresh(ish) air whilst outdoors, too. x
I put a running jacket on this morning. Bit silly really.
But bring on that mellow fruitfulness. I'm with you; Autumn and Spring are my favourite seasons. Closely followed by the other two, whose names escape me.
Oh how lovely Sadie-runs ...you’ve made me feel all calm with your lovely run this morning...being outdoors now, for me, is very different too...enjoy your holiday my lovely friend xx
It was one of those very calming, at-one-with-nature runs! Far fewer people about than normal, I felt like the last person alive when running through the woods! Took the opportunity to sing, but saw a squirrel covering its ears, so promptly stopped. 😂 Hope all is well in lovely France. You home soon? xxx
