Well thatβs me all set for the off!! I finally managed to sort my bib out π and I am looking forward to my first virtual run through Cornwall ππΌββοΈ!
If anyone had told me at the start of this year that Iβd now be signed up for this, I would never have believed them. Itβs going to be a great way to keep me running as the autumn and winter approaches.
Good luck to everyone else who is already on their way to John OβGroats or starting tomorrow. Happy running π
Thanks Buddy. I'm so glad that you are allowed to log both runs and walks - my little cockapoo may not be keen on being my run buddy, but at least she's up for the walks πΎπ.
Good luck to you Delly dot for your running adventure with LEJOG 5 from Land's End to the top of Scotland at John o' Groats, I am sure you will enjoy your walks and runs, good luck.
Thank you Al. Virtual running is a whole new world to me - what a brilliant idea and a great way to motivate people to keep running through the winter. π
I think RunaroundSue has jumped in with a helpful reply. Iβm just back from my run and about to shower & eat. If youβre still stuck after Iβll try to help. π
You have inspired me to do a last minute join up! Look forward to running with you. Not sure how it works but assume I can get my Juju plan to work with it? 5 k tomorrow!
Thereβs a lot of people around there in touch with their inner crazy... and itβs wonderful to behold! Have a wonderful journey on LEJOG... Iβm doing the much easier (4 miles shorter) Wales coast path run! We got this and we shall have lots of fun clocking up the miles.
The inner crazy is strong in this group, great to have lots of us along for the journey!
What are everyone's plans for day 1? I'll be kicking off with a walk to pick up my son from the childminder and then a 5k this evening, maybe a bit more if I am feeling strong.
I am also out for a dog walk this morning and due to run my 8k from the Magic Plan today. Enjoy your walk & run π
Go go gooooooo.....good luck and happy running. You are embarking on an adventure and I hope it is a really positive one for you. We're all right behind you!
Good luck with LeJog! I've been keeping an eye on the posts about this challenge and as you say, it might provide that extra motivation during the autumn and winter. I'll keep reading everyone's progress!
I have run and walked today according to the apple watch 21.33k. I logged the run and a walk on strava as 2 separate activities. I really hope I can log them in as a combined total when I get home tomorrow as currently away. Will be gutted if today is 0 as a result of not logging it in.
That's a great total for the first day Runningroni! Very well done ππΌπ
My combined dog walk and 8k run added up to 10.68k, converting to 6.64 miles. I can't log my miles yet as the website has crashed! Hopefully it'll come back online soon ππΌ.
Hope you enjoy it DD. I did think of joining you but donβt think Iβm ready for it yet. Iβm not sure what virtual running is!! However looking forward to your posts along the way ππππββοΈπββοΈπββοΈπββοΈgo go go
This is my first virtual run so Iβm on a journey of discovery π. I am going to be logging my dog walks and runs to help with the miles. I may not make it to John OβGroats but I do hope to make it over the border π΄σ §σ ’σ ³σ £σ ΄σ Ώπ to see my Scottish in-laws. I think itβll be a good motivator to keep me running through the winter. π
Absolutely great idea I love it but donβt understand how it works πbut Iβll enjoy the challenge with your reports so go safely and carefully up those big long roads to the north of π΄σ §σ ’σ ³σ £σ ΄σ Ώ Scotland. πππππππββοΈπββοΈπββοΈ
Well done! Using ju-ju's plan is fantastic. those distances will soon add up.
I've done my first dog walk of the day and need to try and fit my run in later. I'll add everything up at the end of the day and log it. Must remember it's miles and not kms!
Yes the miles thing is annoying. I downloaded Strava and put that into miles for lejog which also tracks my warmup/down walk. And left my Mapmyrun in kms just counting the runs for my personal records.
Strava wants to charge after a month though so I think I'll ditch at some point because I can't see the benefit. I hsd to upload screenshot anyway because I couldn't figure out how to link my Strava club info.
As long as your settings are Public and you are in the Endto End group they can see your runs and walks, although only your runs will be visible to you on the Club page. You don't have to upload additional evidence
Ah OK. That's why my activity said 0 because it was a run right? And under upload evidence do you leave it blank? How do they know it's me in the club?! Sorry such a dunce!
I'll have to explore Strava a bit more because I couldn't see a free option.
Just done my first mile picking up my son - will hopefully add some more with this evening's run. Though I can tell it will be a while before I get used to logging in miles. Current plan is to switch my garmin settings to miles, take a photo of the "my day" settings so I can see both walks and runs distance, take a screenshot and then switch back to metric, all of which will be a bit of a faff. I already have my garmin goal set to 1403km which makes much more sense to me even if it's a scarier number!
Just back from my 8k and going to work out how to log run + dog walk after dinner. I think your suggestion about switching to miles to take a photo is really good so I shall try to do the same. Have a good run π
If you can't sort it there is a really helpful chap called Carl on the Endtoend facebook group who has been doing them for people. There is a pinned post to contact him
