Yay for autumn.

I have struggled for a couple of months, feeling a bit down about how hard running is, and how I seem to be getting slower..... and that makes me not want to run. This week, we are back in the old routine, all the family back at school and work, and the weather is cooling. I read someone on here say that in order to run faster, you need to run faster. So I decided to do some shorter runs but up the pace a bit. It’s not fast by any means but Strava gave me some medals 😁 This makes me very happy, and makes me want to go back out and run some more 🏃‍♀️

Well done! Yup to whatever works. I’m still working on the ‘slower to get faster’ tack 😂

I always lose pace over the summer months (the heat, pfffft!) and then speed up again in winter. Some of my PBS happened in Jan/Feb this year! But yes, the only way to get faster is to run faster! Interval training and fartleks work a treat. Glad your brilliant run has sparked the old mojo again! 👏👏👏

Yeah! It's just about finding the stuff that motivates you :-) I have found it hard too and I think it might be the "heat". Maybe another goal is to ignore the stats and to enjoy it... (need to do that one...)

That’s a fast pace compared to me! I’m running the Bristol half marathon on Sunday & my fastest pace so far is 8:45! Mind you, I’m 40 now so my quick legs have deserted me now!

Just running is fine. Slow running builds legs. You have to be stronger to be faster and that takes time

You’ll get there💪👍😃 Meanwhile enjoy your runs. Mix things up and keep it interesting
