Just a quick one and kudos to _SimonT_ for the tagline
After three weeks of intermittent pain, misery and general IC-ness, I felt okay enough to put my trainers on.
Simple objective today: "Can I jog for a bit without it hurting?"
That meant a 500M walk up to the end of the lane and a 500M jog back. That was going to be enough to test whether everything worked.
Trusty watch tells me it's 700M up to the junction and another 700M back. Walking and a slow jog both fine. Done a bunch of stretches. All feeling good. (I had this fear that I'd have forgotten what to do and was hyper-aware of every single creak and groan from every part of my anatomy.)
Physio appointment tomorrow. Feeling back to normal. Hopefully back on form soon. And no, I'm not planning to get straight back into W3 of ju-ju- 's plan without a decent managed ramp up...
Phew.
Thx to all for their concern and kind words. We'll all get there. Happy running and keep cool today xx
Quick amend: A lot of us will remember DaveB46 from C25K. He's had a whole bunch of issues, but is still out there. Pop over to the C25K board and give him a big virtual hug. We miss you Dave!!

Yey! Glad youβre up & off...gently does it though & youβll be back on top form soon & back on the plan, no rush though, the runs & the plans are always there π
Cheers hon. Fingers crossed we'll be back in the land of lame jokes and bizarre playlists before you know it. Time to get back into "Boom" feather ruffling
What happened?!? I donβt know, I leave you bunnies for a few weeks and you all fall apart!! My July got totally side swiped by mother in law being dramatically flown off Barra minutes froM death... recovering well but it meant life went on hold! But now back playing again..,,and starting from scratch with great pal who was inspired to start. We are on week 3 and enjoying running round loch an Eilean together 4 times a week....then we will be back where I was, wondering what next!
Mr A I hope you are recovering - I guess Paris is looking less likely? I missed your posts (I lost them as I seem to have managed to reset my -ID ..... chin up chest out manage that playlist! Xx
Sounds like you've had more than enough to cope with, hon.. hope all's good. Running around lochs sounds fantastic xx
Hastings HM and Paris are still very much on the cards. Even if I walk the blighters. I have time enough to get back in the game and get sorted. Just slow and steady...
You shouldn't go away - we fall to bits without you!! xx
Thatβs fantastic news! Brilliant that you could run without pain.
How are the EJBs? Are they a bit melty? Would you consider a hard boiled sweet instead? I mean, I know one wrong move and youβd choke to death but they are a bit more hardy in the hot weather. π
Haha! I was with some piano teacher friends this afternoon and we were discussing what piano teachers say and what they actually mean...... π
That's great news. Easy does it. I think being on the IC is par for the course and we can learn from it. Things like rolling/crushing. strengthening, stretching and even Pilates! I wouldn't be doing any of those things if i hadn't had nigglettes and niggles.
"Oi, cameriere!! Call these stuzzichini? This is just a small bowl of crisps and a few olives. If I don't get proper stuzzichini with my Campari Soda/Aperol Spritz, you and me are going to have a proper argy bargy in the car park. Okay? Stuzzichini!! Subito!!"
Not sure it's been wholly positive. The good news is that I probably feel better as I type than I have for a couple of weeks. Nothing sore, no niglettes, nada.
Oh no so sorry to hear you were injured. Look after yourself!! Iβm on the IC at the moment too...hoping to be back running by the end of the month. Looking forward to getting my trainers on!!!
Oh no!! You too!! I got a clean bill of health today from my physio with instructions to keep stretching and rolling my left quad. Hip and knee both fine.
Apparently an ankle sprain. I was doing my graduation runs of 30 mins when my ankle just went nope! Ive been limping about for the last 5 weeks. Went out yesterday for a trial run as I was going nuts, my husbands running and now both my kids are doing junior park run!! I did W3R1 just to see.... it held up just about. Was so good to get my trainers on. Glad to hear your getting back to it take care!
Erm, hope Oldfloss isnβt listening... π¬ I graduated before I started. 2 runs after completing c25k I went out to see how many times I could run round the lake. My wife came along on her bike. I could tell she was surprised when I started lap 3, and at the end of it I knew sheβd had enough, so I did another lap π¬ 11.9k in about an hour 40. Not a wise thing to do, but I wanted to know how far I could go if I just kept slowly plodding on π
It was slow enough that it wasnβt too bad, Iβm a stubborn person, so if I slow right down I can grind it out. Very strange tingling sensations in the legs when you finally stop tho.
Sticking strictly to the program now ππ Iβve signed up for a 10k βraceβ that starts outside my house in November, so trying to keep sensible to limit the chance of IC
Iβm at week 6 run 3, should be doing 9k tomorrow, but also supposed to tile the bathroom floor π€
Yeah, I donβt think the run is in doubt, but the bathroom is on the second floor and the tile cutter is in the garden. Itβs the stairs between the two that are worrying me π€£
