Iam so pleased to have survived my first 3 runs per week (not done that in a long time). I even managed to do 10km today in an hour, not my fastest but to be honest I am not trying to go fast I am desperately trying to slow it down.
What I loved about todays run was not the run itself, but it was the fact that I was excited to run, I had planned to run 10KM as I have entered the 9 3/4KM or Mile virtual race. At this stage the miles are too much but I was confident I could do 9 3/4km. I love prepping for a run, what shorts and t shirt to wear, which cap, Instead of water today i filled by soft plask with water and put it in the freezer. It was a great idea as my palms heat up so holding the iced flask realy helped. So all kitted only thing I need to do now before going to the park is decide on the music, I listen to a variety of genres, i like to mix it up so I did just that today. I started with Bobby Brown late 80's and Bryde - I dont know wanybody that has listened to her but I am telling you I heard her on Radio5live a few months back she is amazing and I think her album is great to run true - you heard it here folks (album Like an Island)
So all done off to the Memorial Park, all parked up, now off for a walk and stretch then run
What was great about todays run was that there was many people out and about today walking, running, walking the dog, having a tea at the cafe, some Coventry City Football event. It was just so busy and firendly, I must have said hello, thank you (for moving as I approached) a hundred times. I gentleman on a bench even said"ggod going, see you on the next lap) It was great, I sometimes find running lonely but today it felt right, no dramas
Same again next week - will do my best to get the speed down to 6:30 as would love gto do 9 3/4 mile - have until end of August
Keep on running one and all
