I have to confess to loving summer running. Having graduated C25K back in November so much of my early running was on dark mornings or evenings in rain, wind, snow and ice that I've loved the longer days and even this heat.
I'd actually love to be out there more but the last two weeks have been crazy work weeks and I've only managed 4 runs in all.
Still this morning's hilly woodland ramble was beautiful. I'd like to say I kept it deliberately slow so as to enjoy the dappled shade, commune with the rabbits, take in the views which make the hills worth conquering, avoid over doing it in the heat and allow myself to concentrate on my form ... but, if I'm honest, I'm not sure I could have gone any faster anyway 😂
Really can't wait for school to be out ... 2 and a half weeks still to go... just hoping the weather holds for all the glorious routes I'm planning in my head.
Happy running everyone 😊.

I absolutely agree. I don’t mind the heat as long as my head is covered, whereas the cold made me reluctant to go out even though I warmed up once I was running. And there is so much to see and feel at one with x
I'm definitely a fair weather runner. I think it's the fact it's light more than anything and I don't find the heat especially problematic (though obviously wouldn't run in the middle of the day) and it's usually glorious in the morning or beautiful in the evening. Who wouldn't want to be out there?
I am determined - but my journey to work makes early mornings difficult (would have to go out at about 5am) and if I have to work late I'm sometimes not back until 8pm and am then often too knackered!
Still shouldn't grumble will soon have six clear weeks to run whenever I want. 😊
I am so loving the Summer I'm almost dreading the dark nights already 😱
