Just getting out there

Joggingonthewildside profile image

So I don’t know about everyone else but the dark mornings and evenings have really thrown me off course but I got out there this evening and did nearly 4 ks and felt so much better after it plus my blood pressure was reduced(I’m monitoring it atm) so I really need to get out much more .. how’s everyone else doing ?

Yes indeedy. But it is important to face down the weather/climate. Too hot (my nemesis)

Too cold

Too early

Too late

Too dark

Too blah

I would recommend a plan!

Sunrise here is about 7.30am here at the moment, with twilight for about half an hour before. That said, I haven't had a run earlier than 8.30am in recent weeks.

I have done a few runs after dark (with head torch) but not in the last fortnight.

Most of my recent weekday runs have been at lunchtime, setting off late and getting back just in time for a work video call.

Well done you for carrying on . Yeh I’m struggling to find safe routes to run after work! Also I’ve just started a job in London so not getting home till late so trying to fit it in all 😩 I’ve managed two 30 min runs this week so feel I’m doing ok but it’s really hard to keep motivated . This forum really helps me

Great your getting out and about again , I prefer morning walks plenty of lights so not too bad, less people about. Blood pressure can be a pest, I’ve got low . Hopefully it will get yours down. Back on walking as think it is strained ligaments in back and ribs but think this could be permanent walking,. Well done on your 4km.

It'sdefinitely tougher than in the spring. Summer can be too hot for me running and I had to set off earlier and earlier to avoid the heat.

Also struggling with the dark mornings. Evening are a no no for me buyer don’t have the energy after work. Currently doing x 3 runs week x2 short and a longer one at weekend. X

Thanks for all your encouragement.. yes I dooo so need a timetable so that’s what’s going to happen ! Just 2 more weeks of full time work and then I will have access to daylight hours 😊apart from keeping me fit it’s really necessary to bringing my blood pressure down .. cool runnings everyone 😎

Mornings for me or it's not going to happen.🙂 I'm on week 4 of Ju-Ju's 10k running plan and ran 4k this morning. My next run is scheduled for Friday.

Sorry you've been injured. It sounds like you're doing the right thing in going at your own pace. You will know when your body is ready for more.
