Dear Oldfloss is stuck on the IC,
and wishing she could just be free
A watercolour to pass the time
An Italian village. Now perhaps she'll do mine?
Had a glorious, if roasting, run through the hills of the Cilento national park, yesterday. Through the local village, down a winding road to the next village, where Holy Communion was in full swing in the tiny, ancient and full Church of Santa Maria De Angeli. Onwards, out into the barren hills and huge views across the valley.
Finally, I thought, I'm enjoying running!
I felt for the first time like a runner! Perhaps because of the smiles and admiring nods from the odd local, sat out on a wall to pass the day in quiet contemplation. Perhaps, they were just questioning why this crazy tourist was out hill running at midday in July!!
I was grateful that running had taken me to this place. So far we have come since W1R1!
And @oldfloss was with me, slow and steady. So I made a few quick pit stops en route, to snap a photo, to help her enjoy thus run with me, whilst her musculoskeletal maladies take time to heal.
Very hard work for the last K of the 5, back up hair pin bend hills, and great view back across the valley to our holiday home, stuck, perched on the mountain side.
With the 5k done I had a short walk up the next cliff face. I defy anyone to ever be able to run up that particular hill! Dowsed with now warm water from my bottle, I managed to run one further 1k back to the house, and plunged straight into the waiting sparkling pool water!
Enjoy the view @oldfloss and mend well soon x
