I am not good in the heat, and my poorly Spanner gets stressed if if I try to go out early without her which makes her condition worse, so I’ve not managed a run in a couple of weeks. But today she had to be at the vets’ for scheduled surgery, so partly to calm myself down, and partly to wear my Pointer pup out (in a good way) I decided to take advantage of the cooler temperature, and stop off on the way home so I could run by the river.
Scheduled run was only 15 minutes at 7.29 minutes/k, so I opted to run all of it in the same direction then wander back.
I was really pleased with myself when I managed 15 whole minutes of running at pretty much exactly the pace the plan wanted, without a watch, or sight of my phone - though I did have ‘coaching’ turned on so I knew the pace for my first split. That is a first for me! 😎
I didn’t see anyone else until I was well on my way back to the car, so had the birdsong (as well as the sounds of their petty squabbling), and the whispering grass all to myself for about 45 minutes.
All in all a very pleasant outing.
