Hello everybody and welcome to Monday.... its a new day, a new week and a new opportunity to be determined to reach our goals... lets do this.....go!!

Sometimes we don't feel like putting a whole post up but just want to share something small, so this is a great place for doing that during the week. Please join in the discussion :)

If you're new or a lurker this is a great place to say a little hi without the pressure of a full post.

Have a great week, and enjoy your runs :)

Yes your practised 30:20:10 and techie son will get you there.Atb with your PB.You are favourite to do this.

For the moment I will take your good advice and practise my counting. Still Laura’s speed is very helpful at present.

Started your 10K plan on Saturday- but from week 2 as did week 1 unintentionally the week before. Just did my 6k down a very blustery Bournemouth beach. Soooo much nicer running without that blazing sun beating down on you. Feeling great!

Okay first time trying out the new SWCD...

Should have got out earlier this morning

Would like to keep new running reboot going

Could get back to running regular 5ks within a couple of weeks

Did get a nice 3k run in this morning :)

Hey guys! I've been lurking around here for some time as my friends graduated before me and I needed to see how they were getting on. Would be wrong not to, right?

I'm about to start W11, or W2 post-grad whichever way you count it. Did Stepping Stones yesterday, which was great. Haven't looked at the others yet as I had thought I'd need to consolidate first, but decided just to give it a go and it was a brilliant run.

I'm not sure where I should be posting these days given I'm in limbo!? Over in C25K they aren't thinking of anything about post-grad until say W8. Over here I've nothing to add re Ju-Ju's plan which I'm not ready to start yet. It's a conundrum for sure.

Is anyone else around here consolidating still?

I'm consolidating! I've had one week post C25k, sounds like I'm same as you :-) I'm planning three weeks consolidation then onto the ju-ju plan

in reply to SteffHazlehurst

Excellent! Glad I'm not alone here. Are you doing the C25K+ podcasts too?

SteffHazlehurst profile image
SteffHazlehurst in reply to

Not yet, last week I just did three runs on different routes with no music, no podcast, just mapmyrun lady telling me as I ticked off each km. (I lost my headphone charger, didn't want to frighten the sheep & cows with *all* the sounds!). Trying to get my head round the idea that I need to go slower to go further, then need to work out which podcast will help me with that!

in reply to SteffHazlehurst

I've only tried Stepping Stones and the first run at 150 was slower than I'm used to, except maybe for the first 0.5k. The next was 155 non and around what I'm used to and was very achievable. The last 160 bpm was a little more strenuous, and since I always push through to 5K, a little over 5 minutes which finished with a wee slipped blooper!

Stamina might be slower, thinking logically, but I'll need to re-read the intro on the download site. Think these will be perfect for me though. Hard part is training the OH who doesn't use any apps and I've got to try and ignore his pace and wait til he falls into line πŸ˜†πŸ˜†πŸ˜†

in reply to

So I'm wrong. Stamina is all about running faster for longer! They don't say much, it's a suck it and see situation. 🀨

Edit: This breakdown was very helpful

Started the first week of ju-ju's plan Parkrunning with my son on Saturday. Finishing work early tonight so going to the nearby leisure centre to join in with a running group. Absolutely no idea what we're going to be doing but it's a 55 mins session so I'm assuming a longish run?!? It says on the website that it's suitable for beginners so hopefully they won't try and finish me off :-)

Did my longest run to date (14k) on Saturday so am thinking a recovery run Tues (might try and keep heart rate in zone 3) and then some intervals on Thursday. And my reward is a longer run at the weekend πŸ˜€

Completed wk1 r2 using Laura’s Stamina podcast yesterday.

Beautiful weather, lots of lovely sunshine round the lake with just a light breeze.

Ran out of podcast before the 5k distance but I’d downloaded a mix of 179 bpm just in case this happened cos I wanted to see what running a much faster beat felt like.

Not too bad as it turns out, I think running 179bpm might be just as hard as running at 150bpm for me (I am tall with long legs) although I can keep up the 150 for longer πŸ˜† did manage the last 400m at the higher pace though. πŸƒπŸ»β€β™‚οΈπŸ’¨

Looking forward to the 5.5k on Sunday now. πŸ™‚
