So Sir Mo and I (plus a few thousand others!) ran 10K in London today!!

He’d finished before I’d even crossed the start line 🀣 but I did it!!

The first 1K was sooooo slow (+7mins) which was probably a good thing as it was so hot, but then found some space and got a steady speed!

Final time of 1:00:29!!

Can’t wait for the next one to knock of those 29seconds!!

HUGE THANK YOU to Ju-Ju for her plan and all the other wisdom & encouragement you’ve all given me!!

Well done - that's a great time I think it is the same route as the London Winter Run- just you shiver rather than perspire at the start line!!!

What a great time for your first 10K, and so close to that magic 1 hour mark!

My nickname at school was β€œdaddy long legs”... it’s taken 40 yrs to be pleased I’m lanky and can cover distance quickly - I certainly don’t have the endurance to run for much longer 🀣

I’m in total awe of all runners who go longer than an hour... no plans for 11k let alone 19 πŸ˜‚

Well done on your first 10k and in a great time too! Like you, I grew up with comments about my height and being 'skinny'! Now at 53, I really don't care anymore because these skinny pins are pounding out the miles! Don't rule out endurance either btw - I used to think the same but it's all about putting in the work, as many of us have found (I ran my first half marathon last year!) .

Also, how great is running? What other sport do you know where so many people of different ages, sizes and abilities can all take part in the same race?! ..You ran with the legend that is Mo!!!πŸ™‚

I know right!?! Except my kids are quite quick to point out that Sir Mo had finished before I’d even started so technically we didn’t quite run β€œtogether” 🀣 but hey, Jessica Ennis gave me a high five at the start line (along with the 1000’s of others that she had to wave off)

Running is truly an amazing sport!!
