went out for a run this morning - sun was out, route was beautiful, pace was great and really enjoying it...just hit the 4k mark and my left calf pulled me up...this is by far the worst i have ever had, i had to walk the final stretch to home and even that hurt. Pain enough to have me on ibruprofen, am now tubigripped and using deep freeze gel.

I don't know if this is the return of the muscle spasm or an actual strain but i am gutted. Had plans for an 8k on saturday. why me :-(

Oh no, sorry to hear that. I had calf issues on the final week of c25k, so I know how frustrating it is.

Really sorry to hear this. I don't know what the answer is except perhaps an expert opinion x

its easing off as the day goes on - which makes me hopeful that it is a nasty case of cramp. I just bought a foam roller - so will try that out and see what happens :-O

My calves sometims get knotted and tight after a run, though never during, the foam roller helps a lot
