Got up bright and early this morning to do a longer run! I’ve not been getting out as much lately due to holidays and more recently toothache!
As it was such a sunny morning I decided to do the lighthouse run. (Making sure I didn’t trip and fall this time!!) Wore my little shorts which my daughter passed on to me and a vest top which felt more like a swimming costume!! I do prefer a baggier top but I knew I wouldn’t be seen that early!!
Had a bit of faff with my Garmin as it decided to do an update just as I was about to start running and I didn’t know how to delay it so my warm up walk was extra long! At one point I thought maybe I’ll just have a nice walk instead!!
Anyway once I got going I felt great! I find the watch helps me slow down a bit as I can check my pace! (My toothache wasn’t too bad either in fact since I made dental appointment it felt better!!!)
I love it when I catch first glimpse of sea!! Never tire of it and it made my day when a wee deer 🦌 popped its head up in the long grass! Often wonder what the wildlife think when they see this mad middle aged half clad red faced woman plodding along!!!😂
The sea was a beautiful colour, so calm and I watched a couple of herons in the water!
Headed back up the hill still feeling ok! First time I’ve taken water which was a good idea! Took a little detour through the woods just to make it a little longer as I wanted to get to 14 K to make it longest run to date!
Feeling on a high now and ready to face the dentist!! I won’t need an anaesthetic!!!! 😀🏃♀️☀️

Aww thank you Sadie! What a lovely thing to say! It was one of those runs that turned out so much better than I thought! Very quick dentist appointment! Was hoping for a longer lie in the chair ha ha!! Got to go back for extraction but not for a few weeks! (Very booked up but that’s ok !!!!)😀
My poor teeth are so heavily filled since childhood they are starting to crumble!!! I’m sure that’s why I set metal detector off at airport every time!!!! 😂

Thank you! It was great getting out again for a longer run! Felt surprisingly fit after my holiday!! Tooth getting extracted!! It has settled a bit for now!!! 😀
Wow, I'm so jealous of your lovely views. And 14km is a good distance. I haven't attempted more than 10 over the past few weeks as the heat is really bothering me. But now you've made me feel I should get back to my longer distances.
I hadn’t done a longer run for ages so I was determined to do one yesterday on my day off! My legs are feeling it today though!! I’m finding early mornings suit me best heat wise! 😀
